Very clever, I love it when the BBC plays (nice) games with us

Thought i'd give it a go seen as its won awards. I thought it was boring. Nothing much happened in the 90mins. Won't be watching again

Can someone explain? The postponed episode I watched was a repeat or a mixture from the last series? Will the remaining 2/3 be new episodes as my TV listings says that next Friday's is also a repeat - I am confused.

Why are you confused?
They're repeating series 2 and later in the year are shoing series 3.

You could have easily found that info from the BBC site, wiki, imdb, listings sites or a page or two back where it's stated that the upcoming episodes are repeates of series 2 and also giving the date for the premiere of series 3.

Thanks for that admonition but my TV listing said "New BBC drama" or words to that effect and in my naivety thought that these were new episodes. Won't bother wasting my ageing eyes on the rest then.

Nothing much happened?

Did you fall asleep?

Boring?

It's my favourite episode of Sherlock. Not least for the delicious Lara Pulver.

Boring?! Nothing happens?!?!
Wow, Sherlock is fanflamingtastic, even the repeats outshine just about anything else good on TV. Let alone the mind numbing dribble that fills so many channels these days. The mind boggles at how anyone could say it is boring or nothing happens. May not be someones cup of TV...but you would still hope that if it wasn't they would see BC is pure talent and the show is so well done! Alas some have no hope

Is 'boring' a euphemism for 'I had no idea what was going on?' by any chance?

There are many words to describe Sherlock whether you love it or hate it but "boring"?

Personally i think its a fantastic twist on the original concept and genuinely forward thinking TV. I love it. But even if i thought it was pretentious nonsense i certainly wouldn't call it boring.

It probably means - there weren't any high speed car cases, or people shooting each other, or nude women....oh, wait....

Anyway, you have to concentrate on the dialogue a bit. Too hard for some.

Just for the scene in Buckingham Palace I'd recommend Sherlock to anyone( not just The Sheet!) beautifully filmed, acted and written. Never been the greatest Sherlock Holmes fan but I love this. Martin freeman is brilliant ( the cup, the napkin and the baby name suggestion!). This Sherlock is witty too.
Benedict Cumberbatch is the finest actor in Britain today, in my humble opinion. Easy on the eye ( well mine anyway) and has easily one of the most beautiful voices. It's a triumph.

The best lines for me:-

JW-I was in the army, I killed people.
SH-You were a Doctor.
JW-I had bad days.

Not watched it since it was first shown, and caught a lot more dialogue. Great watch.

Very likely...there's lots of violence and nekkiness but probably too much dialogue and interesting twists in the plot for some. Now I hated the Downey travesty being a real fan of Brett and the books and watched the series reluctantly..to eat my miserable hat..I suspect Doyle would have approved nd Cumberbatch and Freeman fabulous and a word for the lovely ..watserface "Aunt Sally......" (beg pardon). And I am not always a fan of musicso prominant in dramas but the score is excellent also.

Series Three:

Episode 1 - The Empty Hearse
Episode 2 - The Sign of Three
Episode 3 - ???????”

So the title of the third episode has been revealed, I see.

The amount of squealing over that audio is annoying. Thanks for the link.

The audio makes me majorly excited. Although I had to read a transcript on tumblr. The squealing was off putting

I personally never mistake the show for a pantomime myself. With the exception of Moriarty and the Buckingham Palace scenes, I think the show actually lacks bombastic moments of excess and over the top set pieces.

Did anyone notice that Benny Cumberbatch mentioned tea in his "exposé" of how Sherlock survived?

I knew it would be in there somewhere!

JM is very dead.

Regarding Molly's location during the fall:

Spoiler
There is - I forget where - a picture of her looking out of one of the windows Holmes falls past.

Whilst I'm here, I don't see why the various IOUs have to mean anything more than what Moriarty said directly to Holmes: "I owe you a fall". Maybe they're all just taunting reminders?
