I don't know what it is, but there's something I really like about Verity: although I reckon she's very little chance of walking all the way through the competition (her groups, along with Rowetta & Steve, are by far the strongest of the lot - Cowell is lucky he got this trio, because amongst them has got to be the winner), i'm glad she's on to next saturday.
I think they'd do her a favour if she were geared towards (without turning into a cabaret act) a sixties style. Less Eva Cassidy, more Helen Shapiro, you get me. Today she came out there looking like proper mutton dressed as lamb (her outfit was a little too "can I pass for thirty?" and the flicky out hair didn't suit, too britney). Her voice warbled and broke on that tune (probably nerves - but it held up on the 'big' parts of the song). But still, she's the only one who I sort of 'wanted' to go on in the competition -- and not for sympathy (honest). If I had to choose between any of them to find a winner with the 'x factor' it's be Verity, Rowetta & Steve. None of the others, either sympathy wannabes, pop idolites of one-trick wonders, are serious contenders.
What does everyone else here think of Verity?
