Did she have false teeth in?? She was pretty poor. As for the nun thing, it wasn't as if she did anything rude to 'disrespect' the habbit, so does it matter? It isn't real, after all

Okay hear me out peeps.

I know its movie night but did they really need to have 3 nuns jumping and prancing around. I thought it was a little disrespectful
Are you for real???

Nuns aside, I tried not to dislike Chemmy this week and I was doing quite well until she came out with her "I attempted a lift that no-one else would have tried at this stage in the competition" line. That was as cringe-worthy as "It's important that people know my story". She gets one more chance, if she comes out with any more clangers next week, then I officially don't like her.

Is that even true, surely Jorgie has done more difficult lifts anyway.

Yeah.....might be the competitive sportswoman side coming through there.A shame really as she showed something of a fun persona on the ice first week and it would be a pity if she then wiped out memory of that with her off-ice comments.

No it wasn't. She is a larger lady and there isn't anything wrong with it, but it is relevant to the sort of skating moves she can do.

She isn't fat, and Katerina didn't say she was. It isn't Katerina or Chemmy's fault that people often use "larger" when they really mean fat, but sometimes large means just that.

Chemmy knows she's bigger than average, and much bigger than a normal professional woman ice-skater. She's talked about it herself, and it wasn't news to her. People are just picking up on this because Jason said the same about Sharon, and even though it wasn't rude when he said it either, people decided that because he said it, it must have been nasty.

There was nothing offensive about having the nuns on. I saw a documentary in which various nuns talked about how much they loved the film "Sister Act", much as a lot of Catholic priests think that "Father Ted" is hilarious. Being religious doesn't give you a sense of humour failure and if anything, it's patronising and offensive to those people to presume as much of them.

I agree Katerina was giving constructive advice, from her own professional experience. I wish she didn't get booed

I didn't see anything offensive about the routine - I mean it's impossible to skate to a film about nuns without errm seeing a nun!!

I didn't think that the routine was very well constructed for Chemmy as that type of lift seemed wrong for a skiier with muscles compared to one of the willowly dancer types - I think that T&D would be better constructing her more of a skater routine - perhaps with some jumps

However I cannot imagine how that training fall must have felt for someone recovering from such a catastrophic leg injury

I wonder how she's feeling after the death this week of Sarah Burke. I know it's not exactly the same, but it must have been distressing.

Yes I got straight away that katarina meant muscular/athletic as opposed to fat. Also as her & Robin both pointed out Chemmy's strengths lie elsewhere as opposed to the lifts. Jorgie may be the best all round female performer at the moment but as a pure skater Chemmy is easily the best.

I totally agree with your post.

Why are some people so quick to seek offence - usually on behalf of others - where none is intended?

Chemmy is low on likeability and high on ego for me.....driven sports people don't have to come accross as so full of themselves like she does and 'answering back' a double Olympian and 10 time world or European champion like Katerina on the subject of how you challenge yourself would be a prime reason why she is set for yet another fail in her 'career'.

Ugh, that was probably because the production team held up boards saying "Boo!". You know what ITV are like. The minute a judge says even one word which could be construed as negative, ITV want the audience to behave as if it's a Panto. Very disrespectful to such a knowledgeable and constructive panel.

I agree with you. I liked her last week, and went off her this week. It was obvious that she couldn't do the lift (also showing that lifting can be difficult for the female contestant). Katherina quite rightly pointed out that she can skate, and that she doesn't need to be in the air.

totally this ^^ Chemmy is a larger lady, Katerina is just stating facts and I agree with her, stop doing lifts that are dangerous and that you wont achieve and concentrate on the skating

What I am failing to understand is why T&D would even attempt to put in a lift like that? Surely they would have had some kind of inkling that they BOTH would struggle with a lift like that? Sean is a powerful strong guy but - well - we all saw what happened

Is it a case of "put it in when you can afford to fail and later when you aren't doing the big lifts, people will realise why and not hold it against you"?

Because that is what the audience are instructed to do by the floor managers who have somehow convinced themselves that the viewers want this sort of pantomime.
