I have just contacted Sumsung again and this was there reply.

Dear James,

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing this problem with Lovefilm and I can understand how frustrating it may be.

We are aware of the issue with the Lovefilm app and have already passed this information back to them to address as it is the responibility of the app developer to ensure compatibilitywith Samsung products. As far as I am aware, Lovefilm now use Silverlight - something the C series players and TVs will not ever be able to support. Lovefilm have addressed this on other devices by introducing a new app-Lovefilm Watch Now. I can only assume they will do the same for the C series models but would strongly suggest contacting them to verify this. At present, we are awaiting a release/update from Lovefilm - the issue does not lie with the Blu-ray player.

I apologise again for any inconvenience that this may be causing.

If you require any further assistance, please contact Samsung again and we will be more than happy to help.

Kind regards,
LOVEFiLM CS

Hi Jlo31

We spotted your post and just wanted to drop you a quick line. Samsung Customer Services team seem to be confused here. Silverlight only relates to customers streaming via our website and has nothing to do with the Samsung app. Samsung have already advised us that they believe the problem to have been caused with the launch of their latest firmware update earlier this year and are currently working on a solution which they hope will be ready in the next couple of weeks. I've forwarded your post onto the Samsung CS team to avoid other customers being given this incorrect information.

Thanks for raising this.

Its good to know Lovefilm are watching these threads and am grateful for the reply but I am disappointed to read that Sumsung's answer is false. All we want is a working system and we have been waiting since February

I spoke to Lovefilm over the weekend about this issue and they have told me that Samsung have an update due out on 30th June that will fix this issue. I wasn't convinced so i phoned Samsung who are supposed to be calling me back but 4 days later and i've had no response! Lets see what happens on Saturday then.....

Sounds as if Lovefilm are at least trying to appease or resolve this issue, nothing heard from Samsung though......

Thank you for your patience, we are very sorry we have not yet been able to offer you a solution to this problem with your Samsung device where the video picture in the LOVEFiLM app freezes, and then crashes shortly thereafter.

We have been working intensely on this with our colleagues over at Samsung, and whilst it is still under investigation, we believe we have identified a problem with the Samsung Firmware which is affecting the LOVEFiLM App and is causing this problem.

The Firmware is the software that runs your Samsung device, in a similar way that an operating system
such as Windows runs a PC.

We really appreciate your patience whilst we work with Samsung on this, and please rest assured we will be in touch the moment this is resolved. In the meantime, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Just fired up the Internet@TV on my bluray C6500 for the first time in over a month. The LOVEFiLM Now App has updated itself (along with Acetrax), but no new firmware yet.

Lets hope it appears as promised as I would like to reactivate my subscription.

Currently have Netfilix via a Roku box (and yes LOVEFiLM if you are monitoring this forum please can we have you on the Roku boxes), which is okay but LOVEFiLM via the Roku in the bedroom would be even better

Many thanks to you for keeping us updated...

Hi all

Just thought I'd post and let you know what I've done.

I cancelled my Lovefilm subscription after all the same problems that you have been having. Then last weekend I saw the Samsung BD-E6100 3D Blu-Ray DVD player on Amazon for £87.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-BD-E...xp_grid_pt_2_0

This is the 2012 version and I can 100% confirm

Lovefilm Works perfectly
BBC I-player works perfectly
Netflix option
Has a Web Browser and loads of other additional apps
Can be used with wireless Keyboard/Mouse (not fully tested by me yet)
Has Wi-Fi built in so no dongle needed

Just moved the C5900 to another room and I'm happy as Larry again. £87 is ridiculously cheap, it was delivered next day and it gives me what I want.

Lovefilm have a 3 months for the price of 1 re-activation offer on at the moment, so I have taken that. If they balls-up again, then I will just go to Netflix

Hopefully it will arrive this weekend.

Hey all,

If your machine is not automatically updating, here's how you can do it manually:

Update instructions: - To find this press – Menu > Support > Contact Samsung > Software Version

Follow on screen instructions or check here for more info.

I tried that last evening but it said I had the latest firmware. Will try again.

Again tried a manual update (as always).

Still nothing this evening on the C6500, maybe Samsung Support got the wrong Saturday when its going to be released and its this Saturday ?

I have just checked again and nothing on the autoupdate and I also had a look here and the last firmware update was January http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mo...lDownload=true

there is no update for me either and as said samsung say latest firmware is 1014.1 and dated 17 Jan, 2012

Lovefilm instant is useless for me too, as the app just stalls with the circle icon when loading a title then a while later crashes the drive.

No problems with any other app, just the lovefilm one, samsung say its love films fault as they make the app, and ive contacted lovefilm about this, as its the whole reason i upgraded my account (at twice the monthly cost) to use instant!! of which i cant because of this buggy app!!!

Really really not happy

I have had replies from both love film and samsung the latter have said they are not upgrading the firmware any time soon the former keep telling me it's being investigated and a fix will be provided. It's all a bit boring now my c5900 is up for sale!

well lovefilm are saying there should be some news next week, and samsung say they are working with lovefilm on this, and saying there will be some news next week too..

So fingers crossed? this issue has only been here 6 months lol

I signed up for the free 12 month subscription from TalkTalk and activated it at the weekend. I also have the same issue on my Samsung BD-C5900. I just called Lovefilm and went through all the information she needed to collect. She has escalated my issue to the next level. When I suggested that it must be something basic as they only seem to support Sony, LG, and Samsung BluRay players and she said that they had nothing on their system about this problem!!

Looks like it will be no good news though.
