There is more than one definition of vacuous - vague being one of them. If some choose the meaning of thick that is their choice.

As for the breathless persona - it was not a synonym for giggly. Jorgie appears to project this image whatever her mood might be.

You appear to know her personally and you're adamant that the 'breathless, ditzy blonde' is her true character. Yet when I suggested this I was immediately jumped on by those of her supporters who maintain it is a sign of her acting ability.

I then respond with the comment that this is a deceptive game to play only to be met with assertions that this is the 'real' Jorgie.

The wheels on the bus go round.

If those who know her find her to be a 'lovely person' I'm sure this is so. I've never implied otherwise.

Whether it's put on or not, Jorgie's ditsy persona is beginning to grate on me. And I wasn't wowed by her routine this week. Although it was through no fault of her own, she spent a disproportionate amount of time in the air - either being lifted or swung around. Clearly that requires some skill and courage, but I'm more impressed by skating skills and by the lifting carried out by the male celebrities. Plus the helicopter move looks more like something you'd see in pairs skating than ice dance to me. I don't see what the head banger has to do with ice dance either but I'm sure it'll crop up again (and more than likely it'll be Jorgie that's doing it because she's small and light).

Yes, though she wasn't just being swung around.

As I mentioned in another thread:

There was something impressive in one of her lifts that I don't think I've seen anyone mention: when she's in the air, being held by one hand and one ankle, she pulls in her body and other arm, lets out again, pulls in -- rather like she's flying.

The last time I saw anything like that was, I think, Suzanne Shaw in the final, and it takes strength to pull in like that, especially since it's against the force of being swung around.

I noticed that I thought it was very impressive

She doesn't blow me away as such but I think she seems sound enough. She can still get better so at least she caan't be too arrogant like one of the male celebs that me and my house are all in agreeance on as being. None of them blow me away really, maybe because I feel like we're seeing pretty much the same standard as previous years, thereabouts. The top four are good enough to appreciate of course, just not be bawled over by.

Jorgie was genuinely breathless tonight. Not her best performance, as Robin said, but her highest mark from him. She was very good tonight, but not amazing, as before.

Well, tonight she must get all the votes from a certain type of male.....though they may have to dial one-handed.

A certain type is probably right - i.e. the type who fantasise about grown women dressed up as schoolgirls However I do believe such an image would make the skin crawl in a preponderance of men.

Of course Jorgie cannot be held responsible for the questionable taste of the wardrobe department.

It was well dodgy because Jorgie, though 24, being only 5ft 2in, could well be taken for much younger. She does play a character Theresa McQueen, who is 5 years younger than she (Jorgie) is.

I think the choreography was the problem tonight rather than Jorgie's performance. Needed more skating and fewer lifts & toepicky dancy bits (like my technical knowledge there?). She's still my favourite though.

Yes Jorgie can pass for someone considerably younger than she is - and that is even more unsavoury; feeding the sickening sexual appetite of those who fantasise about schoolgirls.

Some might think me prudish - but frankly the thought of a certain type of man dialing with one hand leaves me nauseous.

Oh came on! The wardrobe dept just copied the original Britney video look.... Just like Jenniffer did with Vogue. I personally prefered Jorgie outfit from last week... Phwore!

what smutty minds some of you have - the outfit just copied the Britney video outfit and the type of male you suggest would vote would surely NOT watcha programme with adults in it let alone about skating

Some people on this board like to fixate on pervs more than the pervs like to fixate on Jorgie. I though it was cute but a bit cheesy. Pervy men have access to an endless supply of porn of every description they don't need to waste their time wanking over early evening tv.

Really I don't think they need to stoop so low with Jorgie I mean she is a pretty girl with lots of clothes on let alone school girl uniform or the leather number from last week. We have this argument whether the girls are good skaters or are they just being swung round or are the guys better because they have to do all the work? I think as long as they look good when they skate it shouldn't matter who you are watching.

I think Jorgie is really good and may not have been at her best on Sunday but still got the highest mark of the night. They need to push her more but then it may make the others look bad lol

I liked her best (as far as costume is concerned) in that princess-in-pink outfit from her first performance. They should stay clear of sexing her up.

Apparently the above poster would disagree with you - it was he who introduced the unsavoury image of a certain type of man dialling one handed.

Not just that first week outfit, but also her hair and make-up combined to stunning effect. With her exquisitely graceful execution of an enchanting routine I too was 'blown away'.

Would you say the same if Matt comes out topless next week?

Amazing tonight, but when interviewed she said absolutely nothing. I think she needs to script her answers beforehand, and just regard it as another performance.

If and when she wins the title, she will probably have to learn a little gracious acceptance speech, thanking everyone.

Yes, the pretend amazement is grating. I would rather have someone else as the winner; at least all the others are appreciative of the marks and comments.
