Jennifers baby son was banned from being in the audience

Not surprised at this really, her baby screamed all the way through the live show last week and must have been quite off putting for the other skaters.

Why would you take a child that young with you? Seems a bit silly and "me,me,me" to me. Other celebs leave their children at home, why is she whinging?

Yeah, I remember on the final of series 3 when Suzanne did her winning routines they kept cutting to her young son in the audience bawling his eyes out because of the noise. I don't think the kids always enjoy being there as much as their parents want them there.

And it means now they can't use the Gary Lucy vote (ie mentioning your child every five seconds).

Yeah a child that age should be tucked up in bed.

I wouldn't like to have a baby sitting in front of me crying so quite right he shouldn't be allowed.
He should be in bed anyway.

what a dreadful waste of a "vote for my mummy" t-shirt

I don't blame them for banning young kids, as others have said, it's a live TV show and could be distracting in a smallish studio environment to have a child disrupting things .. plus at 2 they probably have no idea what's going on and are just basically a human "vote for me" banner

Ah poor Jen, her ribs killing her and then her little son banned for the studio as well - she must have felt really down tonight

I would never have taken my son, at that age. I think depends on child and how you know they will behave. I say age 5 and above is suitable. (depends on child though) some younger ones will behave and love the experience.

Actually how do you know it was Jens baby? There were at least two babies there last week both under the age of two the other being Matt Wolvendens, who from the tweets sounds like a bit of a brat.
I do agree with the new rule though as why should tiny kids be there? The few members of the general public that get in are not allowed to be under the age of 14 so to me it should be the same for all.

Whilst I agree it may not the the best place for a young child (given the noise levels, number of people etc) I can kind of unserstand Jennifer being upset as, mentioned previously, up until this series young children were allowed in the audience (assumedly if they were the child of the skater / close relative) &, to be honest, to cite 'Health & Safety' is a bit of a moot point as it was always allowed previously. Putting my H&S anorak on, it would be interesting to see why their risk assessment changed suddenly this week from all of the previous series!!

Nice that you cleared that up Hearing your child is behaving like a brat is bad enough, but then knowing that child wasn't there, is evan worse.

Matt's son has never been taken to the show, as you say he's supposed to be naughty, and also it showed his girlfriend in the audience last week and there was no sign of the baby with her or his other supporters. .

if you look at 4:48 and 5:53 on this video the poor kid hasn't a clue what is going on

and yeah I didn't see any kids with Matthew's supporters

Do think it's odd that this rule has suddenly been bought in part way through series 7 though i can see the rationale for it. I guess Jen was disappointed cos she had thought it OK to take him & did last week so was a bit surprised at the sudden change.

Can't believe some of the comments on here about Matt's little boy. He's a toddler & guess what toddlers don't behave well 100% of the time.

Do they ban all children that age, or is it selective?

Jenny was in such a state last night I don't think she would have survived a skate-off and would have broken down. It was cruel not to announce her going through until almost the last, as the names were given "in no particular order".

Even Matt has said himself in interviews that his son is a handful, nothing nasty in that. A lot of toddlers are.

My heart really went out to her last night, she was almost in tears. I agree, they should have called her name well before they did.

I can't imagine why ITV would choose to ban under-6s from the live shows
I can't imagine why anyone would want to take a 2 year old to a show like that!

There's no way they understand fully what's going on and the noise and amount of people and being in a strange and frightening place must be overwhelming.

I understand the celebs wanting their kids to see mummy/daddy skate but wouldn't it just be better to take the kids to the rink with them during training and spend some time teaching them kids how to skate with you? Wouldn't they appreciate that more?

Apparently they've banned all kids under the age of 6.

Yes I think she's playing the "Vote for me I'm a yummy mummy" card.
A mother who actually spends time looking after her child wouldn't want her child at the competition as she wouldn't be able to concentrate if her child was misbehaving.

I felt so awful when they showed her little boy screaming in terror because some strange man was swinging his mummy into the ice by her ankles. And Gary Lucy's daughter breaking her heart when he didn't win... it's not a nice thing to see.

An unusually wise choice from the producers this time.

Agreed - little kids aren't going to understand what's going on so this seems a sensible move.

I also don't see what Matthew's kid allegedly being a 'brat' has got to do with a topic about Jennifer!
