Camera work TERRIBLE

I missed half the dances. The overhead was too far away, and there was too much spinning. Ruined things

I absolutely agree - they do it every year!!
Stupid angles, long shots, overhead shots.
grrrrr, we miss so much of the skating.

they probably do it so the public wont complain to ofcom that the cameras are lingering on the female skaters

Same as on Strictly. Too clever by half, let's just see what the dancers/skaters are ACTUALLY doing, and forget about audience shots, oblique angles etc.

I'd rather the camera follow the couples the way it's done in competitive skating, as much as they possibly can given the studio layout etc.

I'm adding my voice to this thread too, far too many long shots and we can't see what the dancers are doing half the time !!

And aswell just as you are halfway through a move they cut the camera to another so you never get to watch a full move without it getting interupted, its very annoying

It's terrible every year but this year it's even worse.

I think they just like to show off the visual effects they project onto the ice but a couple of times it distracted from the skaters. The bit where they projected the railway tracks on the ice during Stand By Me I couldn't even see where Corey was.

You just need to watch the live shows on DVD where they don't use all the gimmicks to see that you don't need the fancy camera angles.

Completely agree. I've been complaining on Twitter since show 1
