That was one of the nicest exits I've ever watched, he was so gracious in defeat. Absolute gent, Corey take note on how to take criticism.

Yeah he did take it well... shame he had to go - I know he wasn't the best, but i'd have preferred to see him in over quite a few others

I'm a little bit gutted because he was making progress and he seemed to work very hard at his skating. I enjoyed his routine this week. x

Yeah he seems like a very nice person. I was looking forward to seeing him and Sam this series and it is a shame Mark turned out not to be a great skater. I liked that he showed a marked improvement this week though.

I have always liked Mark Rhodes, ever since Pop Idol 2 when he was robbed by Michelle McManus of first place. He has a great voice and so has Sam Nixon. I wish they would sing a bit more. Shame he is a bit awkward as far as the skating is concerned. I hope Sam progresses.

I will not miss his skating but I liked the comment about Frankie, how she was "working with limited resources" and to "give her a round of applause" -nice touch.

Same, I think that Mark was working hard and improving and he wasn't the worst tonight. V sad that he's gone.

I agree...He's tried really hard, made a real improvement & he was fun to watch. Add onto that how lovely he was when he was eliminated...just makes you like him a bit more. Hope his votes go to Sam now...he's doing great & seems just as nice with just as good a work ethic.

I've always liked Sam & Mark as presenters since their first go at it on Top of the Pops Saturday! Would love to meet them one day, they've always seemed lovely. Missed them on Pop Idol though.

I never watched Pop Idol 2 but have seen quite a bit of him and Sam on children's TV with the kids over the years, they've both always come across a genuine likeable guys.

He may not have enhanced his reputation as a skater but he's certainly enhanced his reputation as a good bloke.

I doubt she'd do that! They all know what they're signing up for - and I get the impression that Mark & Frankie have had loads of fun together. It is a shame that they went out after working so hard to improve, but I can't fault Mark for his gracious exit - top bloke!

As a Black Country dweller yourself you'll no doubt have noted that coming from Darlaston qualifies you as a 'Brummie'

Agree - nice to see celebs acknowledge the hard work of their pro.

Of course Corey should have gone from both a skating & likeability perspective. But I don't think I'll mourn Mark's loss too much as he was pretty poor and half of his routine tonight was off the ice.

Why he wasn't in the bottom 2 in week 1 is still a mystery to me.

People must have been voting on his looks and/or likeability because he was by far and a way the worst skater!

Her comments on Twitter today suggest she's been perfectly happy with her last 2 partners on the show. I think she'd rather skate with a nice guy who isn't very good, than someone who is arrogant.
