Is it the TV programme the DVD is tuned to or the one the TV is tuned to?

If it is the TV sond then two possibilities.

The SCART lead is poorly screened. If you have a fully wired SCART plugged into a TV socket wired for output as well as input then the sound from the TV's tuner may be being fed back down the lead. If the lead is not properly screened these signals can "leak" into the wires carrying the sound from the DVD.

It could be the SCART wiring in the DVD. Similar to the above. The signals from the TV coming back down the SCART find their way onto the signals from the DVD within the DVD machine. A similar thing could occur with the sound from the DVD's own tuner.

First thing to try is a better SCART lead. Or try a different socket on the TV that is not wired for output. Or look in the TV set-up to see if it is possible to turn off the feed of the tuner to the SCART output.

If it's in the DVD it may be a little harder. One thing you could try is select something other than the tuner or the SCART the TV is connected to as the recording source. Might involve some trial and error (plenty of the latter probably ) to work out where it's coming from and what works to fix it.

Another thing to try as a test or a permanent workaround is to feed the audio to an external amp and speakers. Any device (such as a CD / radio) with an AUX IN will suffice to do a test with the sound turned all the way down on the TV. A hi-fi / stereo / AV / midi system with suitably placed speakers would be preferred for longer term.

Cross talk in a poorly screened scart cable. Easiest way to solve is fully screened scart cable. You can also fiix by removing pin 19 from the TV end scart plug by twisting the pin back and forwards with snipe nose pliers.

I may be wrong but given the thread title I don't think soulboy68 is having problems with the video?
