The show has been cut from 2 hours 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes next week and there will be a twist. I've been trying to figure out what this twist could be...

I think each couple is going to be coupled with another couple and they will be given the same routine; or chance to interpet the same piece of music. They will be on the ice at the same time and possibly judged on how they interact together. This may lead to a double eviction at the end of the night.

I only just thought of this - it would work with the change in time frame as 8 couples were given 2 hours so six couples could be given 105 minutes.

Double elimination surely.

They all have to dance with one of the presenters, either Philip or Christine

Well that was my original thinking but no that wouldn't be fair. In fact there are a good few people I wouldn't want to see naked on this show. Matt, Chico and Jorgie (and maybe Jennifer) would probably be the only acceptable to my sensitive eyes.

Hmmm if he thinks its great then it wont be another Ice Pick or something horrible...

On ITV I saw this message saying to tune in next week where there will be a double elimination.

I would like the twist to be that they split the celebrities into groups and they do a group performance instead of doing a normal routine

Maybe they're gonna be paired together

so thats 6 pairs of 4 (including the pros)

Then we vote for them as a 4 - then they get voted out as pairs - so would be a double

eg

Jorgie and Matt with Sam and Alexandra
Rosemary and Mark with Andy and Vicky
Chemmy and Sean with Matthew and Nina
Heidi and Andrei with Corey and Brooke
Charlene and Matt with Chico and Jodeyne
Jennifer and Dan with Seb and Brianne

Although that could end up being very confusing

None of the women do any skating. They are just lifted for the entire 2 minutes of the routine.

Then someone breaks a rib and get put on morphine and hallucinates for an hour

They'll show people skating entirely on their own, and not show the "rehearsal" bits where its a case of "will their recent injury put them out of the show - no it'll be alright on the night as usual"

If they were evenly matched then I'd like to see this:

I'd hate to see them pair up.

If it's a double elimination, and they're eliminated in their pairs, it's quite easy for the producers to manipulate the outcome by putting the people they want to stay in (but getting very little votes) with the likes of Jorgie and Matthew, whilst putting two celebs who aren't getting many votes together, making it more than likely they'll be eliminated.

Pairing them up will be disappointing. They have a very good standard this year and most of the celebs are very likeable. They don't need stupid twists this series when they have a good cast, let's just focus on their skating ability instead.

The twists spoiled last year for me, I hope they don't mess it up this year with the same mistakes. Laura's not in it this year to keep me tuned...
