Thinking about how we complain about attention-seekers on the site, I wondered what you could put on there that isn't seeking attention in some way? It's like the question of whether it's possible to do a truly selfless good deed! People write statuses in the hope of getting responses of either approval, agreement, sympathy or amusement. I guess you could say the same about any posts on these forums!
Not really. When I post it's to add my thoughts and don't care if people see it most of the time. But on Facebook yeah I imagine that's often the case because it's there for everyone to see.

I had a woman in her 40s post a picture of one saying "How cool is this?"

Scrambling around a fridge going through bottles to find a bottle of coke with a name printed on the label. Yeah, really cool.
Who would do such a pathetic thing?
Umm....I did this. I posted a pic of my then 4 month old daughter in her bath. She was lying in such an amusing position, she was so relaxed as if she was the most chilled out little baby in the world so I photoshopped a pair of sunglasses on her and added the caption, "S'up!!"

In my defence I strategically placed bubbles across her nether regions so as to protect her modesty. Did I do wrong??
It sounds adorable. But you were right imo to add the bubbles just in case.
Yeah, I've had half a dozen shared photos from those British patriot sites, and we all love soldiers or something similar, because of the Woolwich murder today.

Events like this always bring out the racist 'tards.
I keep getting the campaign to give Lee Rigby a state funeral. It is the sort of thing that makes me really uncomfortable because it is such a terrible idea, and the friends posting it are so obviously motivated by sympathy and kindness.

Another classic from 'I hate interviewers thinking they're better than you':

''Downloading a fantastic copy of fast and furious 6! F**k you lot who have to pay at cinema!!!;0).''

Yes seriously

I would remove them purely because they want to watch Fast and Furious 6.

"Just got back from ******** with my mummy and daddy we went for a walk along the beach with Freddy and me and my mummy had an ice cream on the way back :-P mmmmmm yummy!"

Freddy's a dog btw. She posts stuff like this atleast 5 times a day. She posted the other day saying "Happy 5 months birthday Freddy xxxxxxxxxxxx"

And tons of people always "like" it.

I looked for my name and got excited when I found it. That's what they brought them out for. It's just a bit of fun with a limited edition thing! There's only 150 names

My friend had someone like that on her page too. My friend has a big dog, and she put a motor bike helmet on him and her 'dog' friend commented: "awww, your mummy must love you loads like mine loves me" and my friend replied: "you broken, lonely adult" and took her off.

One of my 'friends' is away in America and is constantly posting pictures throughout the day of what they're up to. They are travelling with a group of people so if I was them I would find it highly annoying to have someone constantly updating their FB whilst in my company - especially when on holiday far away from home.

A 'friend' of mine yesterday put a video of her son having a fit/seizure and put 'aww poor baby haha'.

Actually deactivated my account this morning, had enough lol.
If I ever needed anything to cement my view of facebook (ie, not being on it), it is probably this.

I had the unfortunate experience of going to Amsterdam a couple of years ago with a group of 40 something women who behaved more like 14 year olds, constantly updating facebook with the most inane tripe. I didn't even have my mobile switched on at any time. Never. Again.

You should have chucked their mobiles into a nearby canal.

There's a really arrogant guy on my feed who posts so many statuses a day but gets about 50 likes on each one. He's very, very good looking I'll admit and that's probably why he gets so much attention. He posted a picture of some guy walking down the street wearing a brown jumper and said "nice jumper mate" and it got over 100 "likes". And he posted a picture of himself at his work desk pretending to be asleep with the caption "Top worker." and it got over 100 as well.

He also posts those very subtle arrogant ones like "a bunch of my cousins mates just attacked me for fun because they fancy me. Not funny." and "Just got voted the hottest guy in my uni class. Red neck, haha!".

Ugh

Is it a new trend to post pictures of children who are ill or with some sort of injury.

Not an update as such, but on one of the local selling pages earlier. Someone was trying to swap a track suit for some golden virginia tobacco.

I guess their social must be a day late with the bank holiday

I have people linking a freakish but unpleasant car accident today, complete with loud and rather harrowing wailing. Thanks, but you really shouldn't have...

That's nothing!
There are literally thousands of cats with their own page on Facebook. They talk in fractured English and give minute details of their cat lives and visits to the vet etc. and congratulate each other and commisserated with one another about having "hinjeckshuns" etc.

I know because my cat is one of them and she has well over 300 FB cat friends - far more than I do ! She is even in a relationship with anothe FB cat.

There is even a religion for the cats on FB and a special page for it - The Church of Ceiling Cat.

My cat is a member !

If you set your cat up on FB make sure it has two names that could be considered a first name and surname (even if it's something ludicrous like Fluffy Wobblebottom)
FB doesn't allow non-humans to be registered and tends to close the account if they have single names like Tiddles.
