Any mention of "Date Night" Annoys me.... Where has this phrase come from? You're together for 10 years have a couple of kids and you have a "date night"...No you're going out for the evening.

One of my friends (well I say friend but one who would nodoubt stalk me if I delete them)

"Yayy! Date Night tonight with my hubby cinema and a few drinks"

I don't know why but it annoys me, infact when i have a night out with my OH I don't post it on facebook mainly because I don't want to gloat!

Other little things that slightly annoy me are "BOOM!"....Nom nom nom and U ok hun?

New Year's resolution for me to delete my account for more than an hour before thinking "oh I wonder what i'm missing? Because usually it's NOWT!"

I think its probably a colloquialism but along with "BOOM" a while ago it was (apparently) very cool amongst the 20-something boys on my newsfeed to say "BEWSH" after a particularly joyous status. Thankfully it seems to have died away now, but it would just go right through me.

What is it about cats and Facebook?

One of my friends is forever posting about lost animals. It would be ok these lost animals were local, but no... These animals are in the USA. First it was cats then dogs. That's all she ever posts about!

I HATE it when people in relationships insist on telling not only the whole world, but each other (via Facebook) how much they love each other and how happy they are again and again. That, to me, seems like they are trying to prove something and are not as happy as they make out.

Or another thing I hate is when a couple are clearly sat in the same room as each other but have a conversation on one of their statuses?! JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!!

One of my friends has shared a status in memory of that Indian girl that was raped and died. Apparently if you 'ignore' the status you approve of rape.

What happened to that girl was tragic and appalling (and of course i dont want that to ever happen to anyone) but using her for Facebook fame and to make you seem like a good person is just sick.

I have a friend who keeps reposting pictures about lighting candles in memory of a loved one. I wouldn't moan but it's the same picture EVERY SINGLE DAY.

They kept posting a festive type of one every day (sometimes multiple times a day) right up to Christmas. I am getting fed up.

I know everyone grieves in different ways and I respect that but there's no need to repost the same pic all the time.

Oh god. Why do people do this?

In a similar vein, I have a cousin who I actually quite enjoy seeing updates from except that once a week or so she will 'like' a picture of somebody abusing an animal or a child with 'like if you'd punch this person' or whatever as the tagline. It makes me sick to see things like that and does she not realise she's playing into the hands of whoever took the picture, spreading it all over Facebook.

Often the photos are not even of abused children or animals- there is a different explanation like the frequently used one of a toddler who was actually beaten up by another toddler at nursery. The story was all over the papers and these "like whores" just reproduce the picture and stupid people post threats and abuse towards the parents underneath it.

Yup - got a couple like this on my friends list and quite often the conversation is quite rude- I'm no shrinking violet but I really don't want to read him encouraging her to take her knickers off

It was 'OOOSH' among the young and not-so-young on my feed.

Another one is 'standard', as in 'Hangover from hell today. Standard.'

I might be wrong (I am frequently am!) but 'boom' may be from CSI:NY, Danny Messer (played by the gorgeous Carmine Giovanizzo) used to say Boom everytime he found out something in the lab that helped solve the case. Not that I'm addicted to CSI or anything!!

This thread is great. It's made my toes curl several times and, as I'm not on Facebook, it's made me determined never to join! lol

Keep them coming please

When people like these '(Insert name of celebrity) RIP' FB updates, rather than it coming across as a tribute, it almost looks to me that people are expressing approval of the actual death!

Wish people would stop doing it... I mean, 'Fontella Bass RIP', sure she was a very nice lady but really, to most people it was just a name read out when a particular old record was played on the radio.
