Astonishing!

Yes, I know it rounds to 2.0m, and officially will be over that mark.

But yikes, a primetime ITV 8pm gameshow offering, in midwinter, and it gets a number starting with a ONE!

And what a crying shame it is that the BBC will soon be a virtual football-free zone despite the conclusive and compelling evidence that people like watching football - but don't like watching "football shown on ITV".

It shows how dire ITV Sport's coverage is that football-inclined viewers would rather not watch football at all.

19.45- Take Me Out
21.00- The Jonathan Ross Show
22.00- The Talent Show Story”

Chickens!

I suspect they are exploiting the weakness of The Magicians by tempting the post-rugby audience away with new TV Burp, and avoiding giving the final episode of Mrs Brown an undue boost for its Saturday night debut by making sure it doesn't air against The Talent Show Boredom, sorry, Story.

Not that J Ross is a ratings goliath by comparison...

It would be very strange for EE viewers to favour a Corrie clip show.

Hence why I think it's more likely the live football dented it, and the extra Becky viewers came from northerners who never watch EE anyway staying after EmFm.

I think, btw, Farewell Pat (opposite Corrie) just edged past Farewell Becky (opposite EE) - 4.6x m to 4.57 m (overnights)?

I often bang on about spelling on DS forums - those posts from Channel5_Press

Quote:
“channel5_press
Channel 5 is not involved in any major story lining processes with any production companies. We do however have staff members whom are in regaular contact with the producers of programmes such as Home and Away or Neighbours in order to confirm that content is suitable for transmission.”

Also if the twitter name is Channel5Press why is the DS username different? I sense a wind-up or an impostor.

@Channel5Press Are you guys on the DS forums, there might be someone on there impersonating your team.”

That's why I'm not so sure it's genuine.

Oh yes please don't dare to say ITV1 had a bad night or Eastenders isn't universally loved or they come out and get you. To some people if the two main channels showed paint drying and attracted 10,000 viewers it would still be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Apparently I live in area where ITV is still well loved and where we all have a great affinity with " our" channel. Actually most people consider ITV1 to be rubbish nowadays even in the North.

Ratings are ratings, you can't change a stat!

And don't all ratings come from BARB? I don't think anyone really cares where I've read it, only if it's true or not.

Hardly stealing - just putting them out there in the public domain, something which, let's not forget, used to be hard to come by. That's why I started this thread and why I started that twitter feed. Providing a service!

Let's Dance for Sport Relief has announced some of the celebrity line-up, it runs 18th Feb - 17th March:
Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Amy Childs & Harry Derbridge, Angelos Epithemiou & Ulrika Jonsson, Ava Vidal, Terry Alderton, Arabella Weir, Tony Blackburn & David Hamilton, Scott Mills & Olly Murs, Omid Djalili, Watson & Oliver, Patrick Monahan and Rowland Rivron.

I didn't realise that was on this year, I thought it was in Comic Relief years only.

Note the TOWIE stars appearing on BBC1 there, what ever next! I thought they only appeared on downmarket channels like ITV and Channel 5

Well, technically, ratings do get distorted, because different bureaux give out different figures - such as DS give out tape-checked ratings, whereas other sites don't..... This is where differences are noted.....

I refer to an earlier post where CBB is stated as having 2.8m viewers yesterday, yet another post says 2.4m.....

To what - a couple of dozen folk. Very suspect considering the reaction of some here in the last couple of days makes Digital Spy not including the ratings of C5+1 seem a bigger issue than the global economy.

And god, 25 minutes into the NTAs I'm almost longing for the return of Sir Trevor McDonald.

Of course, and all of that has to be noted where possible, and i do try to on Twitter, though it is complicated. Maybe i just don't mention Big Brother enough. Must be more impartial, just like Dancc

It was one deal, starting with episode one.

Maybe not, but you can cherrypick what you choose to report.

I was more commenting on the fact that you felt the need to be so hostile about me when you openly admit to having reproduced data I've taken the time to calculate and submit in the past.

Comparing it to this thread is like comparing apples and pears. Twitter is only useful for reporting a few headline figures as Attentional etc already do each morning and a true ratings nut needs more than that. Only the immediacy of it makes it so attractive first thing and by the time it hits your account, it's old news. So not for me I'm afraid.

The BBC dealt with one organisation. The rights to the first five years' worth of episodes were made available to the BBC on one five-year contract.

The BBC would have had to deal with Channel 7 and Fremantle..... The rights to the first 170 episodes were and still are owned by Channel 7..... How is that one deal?

With all due respect, anyone can take ratings from here and re-post them to their Twitter account, irrespective of whether they have an account here or not. After all, this forum is in the public domain.

What the creator of this thread puts on their Twitter field is frankly none of your business. If you don't like it, don't follow it. The C5 crew here just need to chill out and realise this thread isn't C5 vs the world.

Back to the NTAs - what the **** has swimming the Thames got to do with television - don't think any documentary has even been screened yet.

Whether it's public or not, it's still nice for Dancc to have some credit for his hard work..... A little thank you goes a long way.....

Wasn't there one on Channel 5 last year with David Walliams, or was that the English Channel.

And the whole of DS is Channel 5 vs Channel Snobs..... So your comment about chilling out should really be directed at the Channel Snobs.....

Anyways, Ratings Predictions for tonight

NTA's 4m (1.2m 16-34)
CBB 2.9m (2.4m 16-34)
