I said exactly the same thing to my partner. There were several oddities in tonights ceremony. The David Walliams thing being one of them especially as Matt Baker gruellingly cycled the length of Britain for Children in Need! I presume that ITV are keen to give Walliams a lot of positive promotion because he's on BGT. Also, why did Dermot stop short at mentioning The Voice when will.i.am came out? Why was Gary Barlow given a special award? Yes he's done some decent charitable stuff but he's hardly been associated in TV other than The-X-Factor which won anyway.
While DA was a worthy winner, I do think that Costume Drama should get its own category. How can you compare DA and Waterloo Road as the same category?
Also, Brucie quite rightly said "How is Strictly a talent show?"
It isn't. It's an entertainment show and along with Dancing On Ice should have been in the entertainment category.
Why no documentary award? Surely Frozen Planet would have been a more worthy "factual" winner than This Morning. Why wasn't it nominated?
