that said I should judge women on more than their hair.

Fair enough she has a well populated IMDB, so im sure she is the legend she being made out to be.

Charnam you must be young as they truly are a legend. But I'm not alluding to any clues as don't want to be seen to give the game away. Mind you it could be somebody else!

The Body Farm axed after just one series.”

Thank God, I still don't know why the gave the spin off to the dullest character in WTD.

Because the creator of WTD had the rights to the original characters and didnt want them used. As Eve wasnt created until series 6 they could use her,

Me too, sometimes you just get that feeling that a something's going to be a success when you've been looking at ratings for years! Got that with Call the Midwife and I get that to a lesser extent with Prisoners Wives.

It premiered last Thursday on Dutch TV and finished third in it's slot with 1 million viewers. Basically it's the Voice Battle rounds meets DOND. RTL (home of the Voice) put the terrestrial premiere of Avatar up against it which averaged 1.2 million whilst the night's winner(!) was The Mole which in it's 12th series manages to rate better than ever with 1.6 million. Not so much The Winner Is... just yet. Also a primetime repeat on Saturday managed to get just 300.000 viewers (ouch!) I seriously think it is back to the drawing board for Mr. De Mol.

Shame about the Body Farm. I enjoyed it.

Even with Keith Allan in it.

You said it!

Very po-faced and joyless, well made but lacked charm and some characters were utterly pointless like the agoraphobic.

They shouldn't have bothered. Give me Waking The Dead not an inferior version where it's made because people work cheaper.

Fascinating blog from documentary maker Chris Terrill on The Huffington Post today on his new show, why the ratings matter to him and why he hopes this one captures the nation's interest more than his other work:

Royal Marines: Mission Afghanistan begins tonight at 9pm on Channel 5 (HD).

I know what you mean. Some of the visual gags haven't worked because of the way they were shot. The writers' directing has come on in leaps and bounds from previous efforts, but they're still not getting the best out of their own scripts. Maybe there should be a law against writers directing their own sitcom scripts.

Or the BBC have found a way to finally fight Downton Abbey and let them have John Barrowman! Seems like they've found someone though who by next series I suspect might have been alive in the era it's set.

I really don't get the point in these midnight embargos shows have now for often trivial news. Dancing on Ice did it last week with the Duel twist - why not just reveal it at the end of the show itself rather than tell viewers the celebs will be told afterwards and you'll have to wait a couple of days to find out.

UK channels wont be in a rush to sign remake format.

A guaranteed place in heaven for the winners then?

John de Mol's new gameshow/talent show hybrid sounds just as dodgy:

It's an odd embargo time for this Downton Abbey one. 8pm.

CTM continues to increase and impress. And last weeks official rating of 10.47m is phenomenal! I wonder if its going to continue to increase further.

ITV will be relieved DoI performance show gained viewers from last week as a fourth straight week of declining ratings would have been very bad indeed. However, another sub 6m rating for The Skate Off excluding +1. WaH did well under the circumstances, whilst TG made a solid if unspectular return last night. Looks like TOWIE could be on a downward spiral now...which is always good news!

Not sure if this has been mentioned but The Cube is currently recording their next series at the moment with 15 shows. Turns out 6 of these shows are celebrity specials.

I did joke on another website that with the good ratings on the Corrie Cube special at Christmas, they might as well rename it The All Star Cube for 2012 and have celebrity only specials. It looks like Objective/ITV are being serious as you could say 6 celebrity shows is worthy of being classed as a full series.

How did that Survivor meets BB with obnoxious teens rubbish Shipwrecked do for its final? This is one show that is so past its sell by date it should be binned permanently. I saw five minutes of it and it was like watching a nightmarish reality show from about seven years ago.

It's only 3 celebrity specials according to Broadcast (with 12 normal episodes).

I didn't even know that returned. I've never watched it but it seems to return even though the ratings are poor. How does it manage it?

I agree. I think it could do better than the usual Tuesday night drama average.

In terms of timeshift Call the Midwife is now approaching Downton levels, and doesn't have the kind of lead in provided by The X Factor. I suppose, considering the opposition, Dancing On Ice is holding up ok - at least it isn't falling further though the Skate Off figure is slightly concerning. Wild at Heart seems stable and both of the latter shows should improve next week as I can't see Bomber Boys appealing to the same kind of audience as Birdsong, which finished decently. Top Gear appears to have been the show that lost out at 8pm which surprises me slightly; perhaps the use of repeats means viewers are tired of the show before a new series begins. World's Great Daredevils struggled on Channel 5 but, considering the lead in, Bad Boys didn't do too badly. Channel 4 recorded a steady night. As for TOWIE...it's in line with March 2011's premiere and I have the feeling it'll grow as the series goes on so I won't write it off yet.

T Penery, 6 celebrities filming means 3 episodes because there's normally 2 celebs per episode.

Broadcast are usually pretty spot on:

Quote:
“Two more series of The Cube have been ordered for ITV1 and will include three celebrity specials.”

http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/c...e?referrer=RSS

I notice there are six different celebrities playing, and as they usually do 2 celebrities per episode, that makes 3 episodes. A few of those recording sessions may well have a celebrity and a regular contestant recording or something like that. They won't just have one celebrity per episode for 6 episodes - what if they crash out at £10k or something. 6 celebs over 3 episodes makes more sense.

Given that many of the celebs are Olympians, it's pretty obvious when at least 2 of those specials will be airing.
