G4 - They Are FANTASTIC
Garryj

G4 They are FANTASTIC I cannot believe how good G4 are, they are so different and a complete change from the manufactured pretty girls that get pumped out into the charts. At last we have diversity.

I was also really impressed with Rowetta another Star and Voices With Soul did not deserve to be in the bottom 2 although they did go first and if u look back at all the pop idol shows the first contestant always ended up in the bttm 3.

Roll on next week....

No matter what genre you put them in they are very poor compared to other acts...if you class them as opera singers then they are a laughing stock...likewise with pop...people will keep them in for novelty value and then ditch them at the final hurdle...its time the public woke up and smelled the coffee...we are voting on talent...ability...and charisma...not on who is the most different or who will cause the biggest shock by staying in...

They were brilliant - certainly in my top 3. And I love the song they sang

Have to agree with you. I thought they were fantastic last night. They are obviously not going to be to everyones tastes but I love them especially Jonathan.

Well I voted for G4 because they are talented and they are also different and I think they will do REALLY well win or lose this competition. And I do not think people are paying 30p a phone call just for the novelty factor people will be voting on their favourites and voting wisley.

I agree with you. I love G4 and voted for them. I dont like being told by others that my opinion is wrong but people will always have different opinions and music tastes will always differ.

First of all, don't forget how young these boys are. They are Guildhall graduates, not fully-fledged opera singers, they have fantasically developed voices for this stage in their career. Again it's that hurdle of 'what to class them as' that seems to be tripping people up. Take them for what they are.

If we are voting on talent, ability and charisma, then G4 are streets ahead of the rest on all three counts. They quite clearly have talent and ability, and as for charisma, I can't keep my eyes off them when they perform. I admire them for putting themselves forward for this contest when so many people want to see the same old pop acts do well. It's certainly made it a whole lot more interesting.

Don't you know, Mr Blond has 4 decades of listening to music and the Beatles are his favourite band!!! That makes him the most qualified person here to judge so says he. We should all bow to his superior knowledge of the best person in this competition!!

Oh my god, For the first time ever i agree with Mr Blonde.
If they were to win this they would have the usuall first single do well off the back of the show, then that would be it,GONE.
Please think back to when all the fools voted for the fat bird (sorry cant remember her name) on pop idol, where is she now,GONE.

But she had no charisma, no spark and not an especially good voice. She did, however, have Simon Cowell behind her!

Maybe you're right and G4 will only have one single out in the pop charts, but rest assured that these boys will have one hell of a career, whether they win this contest or not.

Purely opinion based, Spellbound. I (and many others) thought MM had masses of personality and charisma. Compared with the others in PI2...MM's voice was very good.

In these shows, everything is relative to the other contestants' popularity and abilities.

True, actually, I didn't think the standard was great in PI2.

We'll agree to disagree then and there's nothing wrong with that. I just felt MM had very little power and projection, and she sang through her nose which is a pet hate of mine.

Personal opinion is what makes these shows tick! And nothing wrong with a bit of healthy debate!

Roxanne was robbed of a decent chance in PI2, I'd pick her over MM anyday! And I agree with Spellbound - I can't stand people who sing through their noses!

No probs, Spellbound.

It's odd...but MM used to get a lot of flack for being too powerful...too shouty. As for the nasal thing, yes she did that...I thought she improved though.

I thought Odis in Simon's group was very, very nasal. I was surprised at them going on about his voice....

I think they will have more than one hit, in fact I think they will sell loads of albums rather than singles and thats really what counts.

Diversity is great and wee need more diverse acts to choose from, Bond are a great example of something different and they sell very well.

Time will be the judge and a if u don't like them then switch off or don't buy their records !!!

I'd like to hear them try something a bit older. Early Eighties synth pop would be a real challenge. Maybe something by Depeche Mode or Yazoo.

Now that would be original.

Who said there's only one format that's allowed to enter the charts? Bring on G4!
