Thanks for the link, that's going to benefit some more than others. Quite harsh I think.

Maybe that's why there were so many ties last week, to pair them up.

I'm confused as to whether the pros are skating with the celebs or not during the routine. Hope they are - IMO it's too early for celebs to do full routines on their own even Matt & Jorgie.

A truly despicable twist.

The producers must be getting desperate about something.

Are ratings down this year?

Sounds confusing, but I don't like the sound of it at all! Never have liked the twists though.

Well according to the DS story the pros are skating. Relieved at that.

Think it will be OK - obviously some couples are better matched than others so some routines will be better but then that's always the case anyway.

Jorgie/Matt & Matt/Nina should be a great routine. Who gets saved by judges could go either way & Kati may have deciding vote.

Chico & Sam seem evenly matched too so will look forward to their routine. Chico ahead based on 1st 2 shows but not too much in it.

Heidi & Charlene close too. Charlene was etter 1st week & Heidi this. Could be close but reckon judges will save Heidi.

Jennifer & Seb should be interesting too. Robin likely to have casting vote here as Louie will probably save Jen & Kati Seb.

Andy will get saved over Rosemary but not looking forward to routine much.

Chemmy & Corey horribly mismatched. Will be interesting to see what his attitude is like. Will he give it everything in his skate as he'll surely know that unless Chemmy has a complete meltdown she'll get saved over him

Do they skate simultaneously to the same music, or one after the other ?

Bit confusing isn't it? I presume separately might be a bit dangerous otherwise and also judges would need eyes all over the place! I shall have to watch This Morning to see what Philip Schofield says. Also we'll see the skater's reaction to the news.

Personally, I wish they would leave well alone. We could lose someone with real potential whilst someone with perhaps more of a fan base goes through. Visions of Coleen and that wretched yellow boa keep flashing through my mind.

I think as with the team challenge last year which put Chloe/Sam in danger the voting will turn out to be more sensible instead. We then ended up with Denise/Johnson in the skate off when they had both avoided it up until then. I doubt Corey would have survived this week without the twist & I can't see him surviving with it. I am equally certain that whoever ends up being up for the vote between Matt/Jorgie will avoid skate off. I've loved Matt & Nina so far but haven't voted as knew he'd be safe being top. As it will just be 6 up for the vote then I'll definitely vote for him should he not be saved by the judges.

I'm not too happy with those pairings, but seeing how Matthew v Jorgie was inevitable (I wish they would stop hyping it as those 2 ahead of all the rest, as there's another 3 or 4 skaters who can get quite close to them in terms of mark) I'm not surprised.

Matthew v Jorgie - so far Matthew is just ahead, depends on who the routine suits more. I do think it's ridiculous that one of them will be up for the public vote though.

Chico v Sam - Chico's an easy winner atm out of the 2. They'll save him barring a glaring error.

Heidi v Charlene - Charlene's ahead on score, but I reckon they'll save Heidi.

Jennifer v Seb - Seb's ahead for me, but think they'll save Jen.

Andy v Rosemary - They've got to save Andy, surely?

Chemmy v Corey - easy choice. Corey's a goner.

I think they should have based it on the 2 skates that they have done, rather than just last week. This would be the result:

Matthew v Jorgie (Matthew average of 21, Jorgie average of 20)

Corey v Rosemary (Corey average of around 10/11, Rosemary average of about 11)

Jennifer v Sam (both have an average of around the 15/16 mark)

Chico v Sebastian (both around the 17 mark)

Andy v Chemmy (both around the 13 mark)

Heidi v Charlene (both around the 14/15 mark)

I think those pairings would have made it more competitive imo.

I think the panel might save Jorgi over Matt tbh. Louis is likely to go for Jorgie, with Robin picking Matt due to more staking content while Katerina seems to rather then equally but have a bit of a soft spot for Jorgie. Its just for entertainment value really because neither are likely to be in stake-off and even if they were the judges wouldn't let them go.

Matthew Wolfenden and Jorgie Porter
Andy Whyment and Rosemanry Conley
Heidi Range and Charlene Tilton
Jennifer Ellison and Sébastian Foucan
Chico and Sam Nixon
Corey Feldman and Chemmey Alcott

Who I reckon will be saved in bold....

I think Louie and Katrina will save Jorgie - unless Louie starts to vote for Matt based on looks (which he has done before when he judged CDC)

Andy vs Rosemary I reckon will be the closest - if she has another wobble then she probably wont be saved

Heidi I think will definately be saved as she seems to be improving a fair bit

Sebastian will get saved by Robin and Katrina as he is the stronger skater

Chico vs Sam - bit unfair really as Chico had 2 points over him last week. I think Chico will win this (sadly) hands down

Corey vs Chemmy - no brainer really, she had a bad week, so in retrospect has the easiest thing to do - all she has to do is skate and she'll be fine.

So out of those left would be for the public vote...

Matthew
Andy
Charlene
Sam
Jennifer
Corey

Unless Corey continues to get a cult vote it'll probably be Corey vs Charlene or Corey vs Rosemary (depending on how she goes)

I sort of do... although I think the pairs should've been made on their averages as opposed to what they scored the week before...

I can see a couple of good reasons why they have done this. The first is that element of compulsory dancing, where you compare couples doing the same routine to the same music, although if they tried it with every couple doing the same one I think viewers would get bored. The other is that if you look at the pairings, there's a likely winner in some, whereas others look closer - but you will still end up with a smaller group from whom to vote, including some real contenders, which means the voting choice for the public becomes much starker at this relatively early stage.

I think it's a pretty good twist and it should be interesting to watch but I think many of the pairings are mismatched. Chemmy and Corey are in different leagues and I think Andy W is lucky to be against Rosemary as well. Also Sam, although good, has a job on his hands being against Chico, and I think Heidi will beat Charlene. Jennifer V Sebastian is a good match.

Jorgie V Matt is the one everyone will be interested in, I think.

A nice innovative twist from the producers who acknowledge the frustration of many voters whose favourite based on Ice skating/dancing ability may lose out to the pure populist young voters avidly following their heart throbs. By splitting the votes in this way from 12 choices down to 6 those who watch and vote for the love of the skating and dancing performance will have to choose the better skaters hopefully removing the weakest of the performers. The producers must also know (based on number of votes on phone lines) who is/was going to be the biggest threat to a true Skating based contest rather than just a populist vote. In my opinion I believe they are trying to make this competition a better competition based on what the celebs learn and do rather than who turns on the hormonal teens.

Can someone copy and paste the twist for me please? I work at Butlins and they've blocked the website for some reason

I've read something up there about Sam & Chico, who're my two favourites, so if one of them HAS to go I'll be absolutely devvoed

If you can access DS, then they explain the twist here:

Sorry, but DS doesn't allow us to copy text from articles, so I hope you can access that link instead.

This twist could actually influence/distort the voting in subsequent performances. Celebs who are not saved by the judges may actually gain future votes at the expense of the judges' favoured "pets".
