He sounds really happy with his partner this year

The bit that I'm curious about:

He said: “Behind all the competition this year, it’s a really close group of people. We have had stale apples in the past, but all the girls love each other.
I wonder who the 'stale apples' are

Matt is so supportive of his partners and has alway made favourable comments about his them - even the duds - and I recall he was particularly complimentary about Bonnie and Suzanne.

He's always been one of my favourite pros and I'm pleased he's in with a shout this year though I do think it was perhaps less than tactful to talk about 'stale' apples. I wonder how many past contestants are now asking "Was he talking about me?"

As for being 'in love' with Jorgie - I'm sure he's in love with her ability on ice and clearly likes her as a person - but it's common knowledge that Matt is gay.

Nice to see Matt complimenting his partner so much, they seem like a great pairing. As for the 'stale apples' comment, I think looking at the context of it, Matt is saying that some people have made themselves unpopular in certain quarters, not that they were neccessarily bad skaters. It's good to hear that the celebs are getting on so well this series.

It's really nice to see him bring her up in an interview, though he doesn't need to-- he beams at her on the show itself, and made a point about his "chills" in the first episode... he clearly adores her, and the audience felt the same.

(Hi folks, have just decided to post very occasionally on this forum after thinking it cost money previously, but I think I will for this series as it's now free-- but not very much!)
