Hi everyone,

Just a quick question.....

So I set up a paypal account so I could sell stuff online...

I haven't linked my bank account to it and I don'r want to link it until the summer....as a way of saving the money I make from selling stuff and then not being able to withdraw it.

I've already made 200e from selling things and I wanted to know how safe Paypal is?

I'm using it as a sort of college fund for september, so if I keep building up cash on my account without sending it to a bank account is it safe? And is it ok to leave money on it for a long period?

Thank you, and sorry for rambling a bit

I've been using Paypal for about six years now and I've never had a problem.

Paypal is safe.

But why don't you set up a savings account that penalises withdrawals to discourage you from taking money out. So you would take the money from Paypal to your 'normal' bank account and transfer into your savings and therefore you would gain interest and it wouldn't be so easy to spend like it would sitting in your Paypal account.

Just my tuppence worth.

And of course if you are selling things to save in paypal, then Paypal will take their 'fee' for you using it, and of course if you have sold via Ebay they will also take their 10% out of the the takings, as well as charging you for the auction in the first place . In fact always seems like you pay twice as PayPal/Ebay are all one big happy family
