Because Alibi showed the previous two seasons immediately before this one, it was easy to see how the show has evolved. For me the classic Castle episodes are the ones with clever plots and witty dialogue, and as season 3 went on the plots got dumber and the script got duller. Serious stuff started to get in the way and Castle's personality was toned down.
Season 4's first episode continued the trend. I'm not enough of a geek to know whether it's the writers or the network that have made the show less fun but something's definitely changed. A previous post says that some of the later episodes have better dialogue. I really hope that's true. |

I watched it again last night with my oth. Can anyone tell me if they noticed this or if I'm imagining it - remember the guy that received the mail from Montgomery (the one that phoned Castle)?
Ok, now the scene where Castle is going in to the hospital room with the flowers, where he checks himself in the mirror next to the 2 cops, a doctor walks past him. Is it just me, or is the doctor the same guy? (Picture quality made it difficult to tell) It looked as though he took a sideways glance at Caste on the way past. JasonW, am I right in thinking you've watched at US pace? If so, can you confirm / deny if this is part of the 'conspiracy' - better spolier it if you reply! Ta. |

Although ..
Spoiler
Just checked the episode guide to make sure of that answer and it reminded me of some absolutely stonking episodes that are coming up. If you like the show, you'll love 'em. Next week's one is one of the first good 'uns

So glad this is back!
![]() This is getting so much more meaty now, whereas season 1 & 2 were somewhat light and fluffy. Glad they showed the last episode of season 3 as I had forgotten a lot of it. |

^this.
I thought this week's episode was 'vintage' Castle - peculiar crime, Castle in his element with the comics, and his face at the end when his daughter says she might be moving in with her boyfriend was classic. |

Yes, much better than last week's. Funny, a bit gross and a plot that nearly makes sense.

I loved it as well. And I didn't actually see it coming when we had the big reveal at the end when the mask came off.

Love this programme, great opening episodes to season 4. Wonder when the writers will get them together, I think their perfect for each other.

I guess it's inevitable they'll get together at some point, but I just hope they do it right. But then they've done such a good job of keeping them apart so far, I don't mind it so much.
I randomly saw "Heat Wave" in my local library so I've got that to read - they've got "Naked Heat" as well

My guess is that they'll get together earlier than that but then one of them will get kidnapped or something in order to keep them apart again.

they'll probably get them together sooner than people are expecting - I guess with the way it's gone, they'll realise people may well want them to end up together but I hope they can pull something out of the bag and surprise us.

"Get me his Head"
Good episode this week, with the Frozen Body's, very Vanilla Sky.....and as always, a great Murder Scene, only without a Body...but lots of Blood.

Cops and Robbers
One of the best ever episodes last night.....with Castle caught up in a Bank Job...and Beckett in a Paramedic uniform, helped.

I was delighted to see Dean Norris (aka Hank from Breaking Bad) making a guest appearence. A very good actor that seems to be in everything at the minute , saw him in the Mentalist the other week. Lets hope Castle is just as good in the weeks to come. I really do think Castle has got better and better with each season . I did like Seasons 1 and 2 but I think Season 3 and so far this season have got more and more dramatic. |

And I've just remembered the closing discussion they were having about Castle keeping score on how many times they've saved each other's lives... 'there was the time when I had to save you when a bomb went off and you were taking a bath... I won't be forgetting that in a hurry' . Yes, I can understand that. ![]() As Brummiekev says, Castle is just getting better and better with each season. Now if Alibi HD would just get up and running, that would be the icing on the cake. |
