I can only speak for myself, but personally I am somebody who at one time generally favoured EastEnders, but since the rape episodes Corrie has completely took me in and my interest in EE has drastically waned.

The ratings imo completely reflect the quality lately, here's hoping a change in EP can give EE far more consistency, thus a renewed viewer interest.

Eastenders's ratings are pretty low for the time of year I hope next week's figures are up as it's the start of a big storyline for them.

I think we could see 9million for Monday's if advertised more.

Neighbours ratings in 2012 are very concerning. It is falling below 1m far too frequently, with H&A often only ~0.1/0.2m behind it. I know yesterdays 5pm episode doesn't usually air there, but that's still poor. It's a shame they have to stick to the Australian constraints of airing that block of 5 episodes in a set week.

It will be interesting to see if H&A's Monday episode gets a boost. In theory it should, because less than 0.2m watched the first look. It should make the manage 1m on Monday. If it doesn't there's reason to suggest the first look doesn't harm the main showing that much.

When is Neighbours up for renewal? Because if ratings continue to fall at the rate they are doing I can't see Ch5 wanting to pursue it.

Not a particuarly great night for the big 3 either. Both EE and Corrie have big weeks next week, but neither got a boost in the build up to them. ED has fallen below 7m too many times this week too. Thursday was understandable, because of the football, but the rest of the week seems slightly odd.

I think this rating was for Channel 5+1, not 5*.

1. If you are talking about the 5.30 showing...well not really.
2. You can watch each episode about ten times in total, so viewer-ship will be spread across all ten screenings.
3. Channel 5 has a low audience share, which is going to impact on Neighbours figures.

Ratings don't reflect quality. In my opinion, Neighbours is by far the best written soap on the box...and has been for the last year and a half at least. It is the fourth most watched soap every week to.

It is also worth remembering that Neighbours production costs are covered by the eight year deal that Fremantle signed with Channel 5 in 2008.

I didn't know you watched ALL 7 soaps

How someone can say 1 soap is the best written soap on the box when they only watch 1 soap is beyond me.

Miles seems quite keen to spin the ratings when it concerns his favourite soap. Funny that.

Not at all my friend. Just stating the facts and the obvious.

Ratings don't reflect quality, remember that!

Exactly and using the 'Total Viewership' card also.
Now if we were to talk about Total Viewership which soap comes out miles on top?

Well everyone knows it's Corrie and so it should be as it is our oldest soap.

I think C5 will be more concerned with H&A which hardly ever gets above 1m. This must be dragging down their prime time share quite a lot. Lunchtime Neighbours gives them probably their best audience share of the day and often out-rates the 6pm H&A showing. Taking into account combined ratings Neighbours is still well above H&A.

Miles is just surporting a soap he enjoys and he certainly isn't the only one on this thread to put a different spin on the ratings for a soap. I remember some fool said Eastenders had rated bad due to barbeques in February

Corrie had 12m last night according to Lorraine.

Dreading the EE rating.

Coronation Street only had a peak of 11.3million.

EastEnders will still do reasonably well. The aftermath should make higher ratings than last night's.

I think Corrie could have had an extra million had they not made the reveal so blantantly obvious

Oh thats much better for EE, I wasn't expecting big numbers anyway, but i'm pleased it was noticably up.

Well done corrie too, I don't watch it, but I can see on tweet tweet and facey that everybody has been gripped by the story. They seem to have had quite a good start to 2012!!

Lets just hope the new EP on EE can turn things around and get the show back on track again, with some good storylines, and bigger numbers! EE could do with a storyline that gets in 12m again!!
