Not as bad as 2011 in my opinion. It was totally unwatchable last year. This year it's just falling apart completely.

I will give you that to. 2011 was dire if 2010 was dreadful.

Post the LiVE, it was almost as though the whole juggernaut had just ground to a halt.

Phil on crack, Ben slaps down Jordan, Lucas the serial killer - not the best plots but at least they were entertaining. What's entertaining now? And to be fair, the Masood plot over Christmas 2011 was excellent.

I'm not sure "entertaining" is how I would describe it if I am honest. Unbelievable possibly. Peggy walking away from her family which was out of character, Phil recovering from drink within a week, then we had Glenda sleeping with Phil, Glenda sleeping with Ian, Ian sleeping with just about anyone, Connor sleeping with Carol which was just not right...oh lordy I could go on. The stretching of the Massood stuff made it unwatchable to...in my view...to the point where I just ran out of patience with it...and I liked the Massoods back in the day.

For the future of the show, I hope the right producer is employed and that they take on board all the things posted on here and elsewhere about what is wrong with the show.

Nothing new! When Both soaps clash the one with the BIGGER episode usually comes out top. unless you know what your talking about is there any point in being in this Thread? You just see what you want to see. Corrie & Emmerdale have also had below 6 million ratings with in the last 12months because Sport or Charity show has clashed

Apart from the Tuesday episode the rest of the weeks BGT clashes 2012 were up on 2010
BGT ran From 7:30.So it meant it had 30mins leaf on EastEnders twice that week. ALL of tv from 730-10 was lower than normal. Bgt 2010 Sae Enders have a Record BBC3 Rating of 1.8m.For the rrcord Enders lowest figure ever was 2006 3.9(Overnights) Against a hugely hyped Hour Emmerdale

Truth of the matter is....Corrie has Hurt EastEnders,Emmerdale had hurt EastEnders.Eastenders has hurt Corrie & Emmerdale. Reality shows,Sports/Big Events had also Hurt all 3...Its swings and roundabouts and has been for years. Soaps have always recovered. It stands to reason if soaps clash (Or any event) The one with the head start/Bigger episode/ More hype will come out top and viewing figures will be split more.

2010 was good, I thought, minus the odd blip here and there. 2011, though, was absolutely appalling. It was all nonsense and I was disgusted all the way through, apart from January, which was rather good. Overall, though, EastEnders' worst year. I could write a ten-page essay on how bad it was - seriously, no joke. Horrendous. (All IMO.)

2012 was also pretty dreadful up until Heather was killed and I've really enjoyed these past few weeks. Still, that don't excuse the fact that Kirkwood's destroyed EE and has been my least-favourite EP.

Well, neither were 2009's. Could be better, but at least it's performing all right.

Well we will have to differ there. Post the LiVE, for me, there was a noticeable nose-dive in quality...in fact I don't think it has fully recovered...has it?

To be honest, most people I know have hated EastEnders since the live, so plenty would agree with you on this, but I think 2010 was very up and down, ranging from excellent (July, August), good (September, October), decent (January, February, June, November, December) to truly abysmal (March-May). 2011 was good in January and June but the rest was appalling.

Blimey, whopping ratings and audience share for Corrie! That'll be the Betty/Terry factor. They must have been 9 million disappointed viewers.

Citadel-
Well I watched and wasn't disappointed. Your personal view is unlikely to be held by the entire viewing audience and given that the audience increased for the second episode the evidence suggests that you might be in the minority. Of course it didn't please everyone but the bottom line is it got and maintained very good viewing figures

Oh I agree completely! I just found both episodes very lame.

Impressive ratings for Corrie there, even if the eps themselves were a little underwhelming. Betty's demise should have featured far more prominently.

EE is only sticking around the 8.1mark.

It needs to be making better ratings.

I'm surprised Neighbours got 837k yesterday lunchtime which is higher than usual. The teatime showing was still below 1m though. I hope it continues to build again...!

It's probably because it was the climax to the Emelia/Michael/Tash plot. Less people watched at 5.30pm because more watched at 1.45pm, I suspect.

Fair City achieving 517k for the Wednesday episode for week ending 25/03. Third successive week that wednesday has been the most watched episode of the week.

Tuesdays episode of the same week pulling in 477k with Sunday and Thursday just under 400k

Neighbours

731k & 1.02m - Wednesday
762k & 1.03m - Thursday

Thanks to the Michael/Emilia/Tash plot as stated above, the ratings for Neighbours are building. I hope they continue to build to about 1.3m for the teatime showing.
