Why does this thread only ever pop up on page 1 on the rare occasion that EE beats Corrie?
That isn't true at all and you know it.

Purely in the interest of balance I feel obliged to post the soap ratings every day in 2013.

It doesn't Dullagj2 has been posting quite a lot of ratings lately.

So will we get a replay of last month only slightly different 'EastEnders Thrashes Emmerdale'
EastEnders airs 8-9 tomorrow and Emmerdale 8:30

Good to see EE & Corrie beat DA & CTM in the overnights and take 1st and 2nd place respectively.

Surprised how high the BBC3 repeat is which suggests that DA is still taking a lot of viewers away from EE.

Highest EE rating since 5th January.

5th highest rating this year.
1. 10.27m (2/1)
2. 9.76m (1/1)
3. 9.74m (3/1)
4. 9.65m (5/1)
5. 9.37m (25/12)

EDIT I think the last time EE got a headstart on ED was 7/7/11 and ED averaged 3.73m. Has rated 4m on similar situations in the past.

Yeah and EastEnders rated at 9million?

Strange the BBC have gone with a 8:00pm EastEnders start on a Thursday and why on Earth did ITV go with 8:30 Emmerdale start

7.94m. It was Ronnie's exit but it was mid summer so it should be over 8m and ED should be over 4m.

Holby was down at 8 in the provisionals but I think they wanted to give their drama the best possible lead in because ITV's has ED.

Did you cop of?

No that was yesterday

Oh yeah of course but Holby will get lost on Friday surely unless people tune in at 8 for EastEnders?

The New years Day trailer has been doing the rounds

The Move to BBC2 for 2 weeks is going to be a factor here as well as the usual sporting events that took place plus BGT

I have a feeling that we may not see Corrie or EastEnders break the 10m mark at any point this year.

Depends what they both have lined up and of course what the weather is like. If we have a big 'Snow day' both soaps could break 10million in Overnights
If they get it right Zainabs & Tanya's exit in EastEnders could draw in some Extra viewers.

Zainab exits in March so still a fairly cold and Dark Month.

If they kill off Hayley before the xmas fortnight I could see that getting over 11m and Kirsty/Ty's wedding should cross 10m next week IMO.

I don't think EE will cross 10m in the overnights and if it does it'll be from October onwards. There's nothing coming up that I could see getting "big" ratings.

Hopefully we get some snow this week then it'll be a whole different story.

I'm not sure how much of the weather will effect the ratings.

It was freezing at the end of November and the show was getting just 7+ million.

However it has been up since Christmas so that they have that in thier favour now.

I can't see Zainabs exit getting good ratings. It's clear that EE don't give a two hoots about her or the family these days. I think it will be fairly low key by EastEnders standards.

Remember the snow of January 2010? On the snow day of 6th Jan, BBC Regional News averaged a massive 10.3 million, about 4m more than normal.

Yeah and EastEnders got 11.06m for just a normal episode (Overnights)

It depends......When snow hits the whole Country a lot are housebound so of course will stay in and watch TV
a cold night in November is very different. I will happily go out and about on a cold night (not that the snow bothers me)
I think it's said Zainabs exit is big and Nina was said to be happy with it(she's on this Morning tomorrow)

Expect healthy ratings for the soaps tonight with the snow we're having...

I expect BIG ratings on Monday.
Doctors over 2 million is always good to see. It grabbed 1.9m the other week too

EastEnders rating fairly high for a Friday and up on Thursdays episode too & not too much of a gap between it and Corrie and a million ahead of Emmerdale.

All the soaps did very well....

I think Corrie will break 10million on Monday with a big storyline running which seems to have got a lot of press.

EastEnders also has a big week with Monday,Tuesday,Thursday being written by Simon Ashdown
but sadly it's had little promotion.

Tuesday there's a Clash with Emmerdale and as Emmerdale gets the 30mins lead it will beat EastEnders

Would love to see Corrie breaking the 10m mark tomorrow. There seems to be a lot of hype around these eps, let's hope they don't disappoint. The domestic abuse storyline has been compulsive viewing.

Home and Away should be getting more viewers. But then again it's multiple showings throughout the day mean it actually is seen by about 1.4 million or so which is pretty good. Not far off Hollyoaks or Neighbours at all. The soap has really declined though. I think it would benefit from a showing after Neighbours at 2.15pm, and then again in its usual 6pm slot.

Home and Away is in such a lull. The new cast members are terrible and the storylines dull. I used to like the Braxtons but now they are taking over. I hear they are not too popular in Australia right now either and figures dipped there.
