As this weather is expected to last, can anyone see EE dipping to 3/4m soon? Nothing really interesting happening for EE.

Can't believe Eastenders couldn't hold on to at least 50% of a 13million lead in from the tennis. The show really is in deep trouble at the moment.

Corrie held up well and Emmerdale was to be expected.EastEnders will timeshift well.

How is it in trouble? It still beats ED, some people on so overact when it comes to EE.

But EastEnders should traditionally be miles ahead of ED not just a little bit over.

It doesn't need to timeshift well it had an 13million+ lead in so don't give us all that rubbish. Corrie had an BGT lead in and got better ratings then Eastenders did with an Andy Murray semi final match lead in funny that.

Coronation Street was expected to be dented because of the Murray match, normal service will be resumed come Monday.

So 830 Corrie got it's Lowest Ever rating. Not bad for 53 years. Hollyoaks and Home And Away Also got their lowest figures for their main showing. I am 99.9% sure thats Neighbours lowest figure too.

Has it never occurred to people that fans of tennis probably aren't fans of soap operas? Soaps are not gaining any new audiences so why would seven or eight million viewers who never watch EE anyway suddenly start to? Bonkers!

Because they dont think. Theres also plenty that didnt stick with the Tennis just to see what time EadtEnders is on when they know it will be added to I player. I just gave someone at work a recap of last night because they sat down this morn to watch their recording only to Find Tennis. Its Exactly Why EastEnders will timeshift well and so will Corrie(Not so much Emmerdale as it doesnt normally timeshift a great deal)

The fact is Eastenders should be rating better with an 13+ million lead in. We all know ratings are lower when up against live sporting events last nights ratings prove this ask anyone in the Ratings Thread.

You can't cover up what was an poor Eastenders rating with such a massive lead in like you normally do.

There were actually only 6.8m watching when EE started. Viewers drifted away after the finish. EE started 10 minutes later.

Careful Cit, common sense doesn't support their anti-EE agendas. Unfortunately not all members are as astute as you. You don't even watch EE.

2012, the soaps were all over the place and clashing with the Euros so 2011 is a like for like comparison.

Lowest soap overnights for Emmerdale and Corrie since Aug 2009 (when I started recording them)

Emmerdale:
1. 3.64m (15th June 2012) * clashed with England match (8:30)
2. 3.73m (7th July 2011) * EE clash (Ronnie's exit)
3. 4.03m (17th June 2012) * Sunday 6:45pm
4. 4.04m (8th July 2010) *EE clash
5. 4.15m (18th February 2010) *EE clash
6. 4.42m (1st April 2010) *EE clash
7. 4.53m (5th July 2013) * Wimbledon
8. & 9. 4.56m (24th June 2012 & 15th July 2012) *both Sundays
10. 4.61m (10th August 2012) *Olympics

** EastEnders had the headstart in all clashes denting Emmerdale's 8pm rating.

Corrie:
1. 4.86m (5th July 2013) * Wimbledon
2. 5.39m (4th June 2012 8:30) * Jubilee concert clash
3. 5.43m (4th June 2012 7:30) * Jubilee concert clash
4. 5.49m (10th August 2012 7:30) * Olympics
5. 5.54m (5th July 2013) * Wimbledon
6. 5.59m (24th April 2011) * Easter Sunday
7. 5.6m (29th August 2010) *Sunday
8. 5.61m (10th August 2012 8:30) * Olympics
9. 5.7m (20th June 2010) * Sunday

All figures are overnights from DS

RE EE's figure.

Other episodes that have aired at 9pm or after in June:
5.55m (7th June 2013) * moved because of The Voice
5.74m (1st June 2012) * Royal doc ran from 8-9

Also it got 5.52m for a Friday ep. that was moved to BBC2 because of Wimbledon. (24th June 2011) so airing it after the tennis was the right decision IMO.

You have totally misread Tonix's post, if you had bothered to read the post that preceeded it. She is impressed that it's taken 53 years for Corrie to post their lowest ratings ever. She was complementing Corrie on such an achievement - ie. that they managed to maintain high ratings till yesterday. 5m overnight figure is nothing compared with the 3m EE once had with Berridge.

I think you owe her an apology

Facts please: EE never had 3m under berridge; her lowest was 6m (she also had a highest of 21m). EE only sank to 3-5m under harwood and santer.

Soap ratings 2012 v 2013

Corrie 2012

8.38million (38.8%) v 7.61million (41%) Down 739k
8.16million (34.8%) v 7.83million (36.7%) Down 350k

EastEnders

7.92million (34.7%) v 6.35 (32.3%) Down 1.57million

Although Corrie figures are down the shares are up, particulatly the first episode. It must have been cooler this time last year

Regarding EastEnders, I know everyone knows its down and not performing well but being down 1.6million from last year, plus down in share points is a huge drop. Its going to be fasinating whether EE can increase over 7million during A/W and whether being down again this year, how it will rate on Xmas day.
