Great time shift figures there for EE. That 9.2mil figure is especially good one of its highest in a while I believe.

9.2 million for Eastenders is great. I hope we get a 9million overnight before Christmas.

19.00 - Emmerdale: 6.57m (30.5%)/6.68m (30.9%)
19.30 - Coronation Street: 8.35m (35.7%)/8.54m (36.4%)

20.30 - Coronation Street: 7.82m (30.6%)/8.13m (31.5%)

Very, very, very disappointing ratings so close to the day, the shares in particular extremely weak.

Not very good for EE.

I think the boring Janine plot is ruining it for Eastenders, everyone is expecting to see Danny Dyer and instead the annoying Janine is constantly being rammed down our throats. I have no idea who is actually watching the drivel that Corrie is showing, because it has been truly atrocious.

EE: 9.7m (39%)
CS: 8.8m (35%)

2007 - ED: 6.97m (30.6%)
CS: 9.27m (38.6%)
EE: 9.77m (40.0%)
CS: 8.30m (34.6%)

2005 - ED: 09.1m (44%)
CS: 11.4m (52%)
EE: 11.0m (47%)
CS: 10.9m (44%)

Obviously they're not reflecting quality at all or corrie would be far lower. It's been dreadful lately. Not worried about eastenders at all.

Not to go all dan2008 on you but a lot of people couldn't get home last night because of the weather. Plus soap ratings in general are in decline.

The Janine plot is the main reason I'm watching EE. Everybody knows Danny Dyer doesn't arrive until Christmas Day, unless they're idiots. I'm watching Corrie, as are 8m of us.

They're reflecting what people are wilfully watching, surely?

That's discrimination. I am reporting you

So are you watching EastEnders right now then?

I don't want EastEnders to be the most watched TV show on xmas day this year anyway.

I am watching again, yeah. It's not perfect by any means, but it's bloody Dickens compared to the previous three years!

Why because its heavily Shirley based?

Eastenders should have over 8 million across the week, but that hasn't happened which doesn't bode well for Christmas day.

EastEnders just isn't going anywhere ratings wise which is very odd for this time of year. We'll see if it rises tonight.

Sorry I don't know what this word means. Perhaps I will have to google it

BIB-Thought you were going to say compared to the other two soaps

No Because I have placed a bet on Mrs Brown topping the day and if she does I will be £123.00 better off

Had a lot of time on my hands, so here's how Corrie rated at numerous points in 2004:

16/02: 14.50m, 54.60%
23/02: 12.50m, 48.20%
08/03: 13.68m, 57.12%; 13.22m, 50.37%
22/03: 13.81m, 58.93%; 11.71m, 45.35%
24/05: 12.20m, 61.40%; 12.20m, 50.50%; 11.5m, 50.5%
13/10: 10.83m, 48.60%
18/10: 12.13m, 53.90%; 11.22m, 44.5%

EastEnders simultaneously had:

16/02: 12.60m, 49.00%
23/02: 13.20m, 52.90%
08/03: 12.78m, 50.85%
22/03: 12.47m, 50.93%
18/10: 10.88m, 44.80%

Certainly rose for Friday's edition on almost 8m. Tonight should be into the 8s.

Doubtful because of Quantum of Solace on ITV - a major movie premiere and an inexplicable 30-minute lead-in! Why on earth didn't the BBC put EE on at 20.30?

Because they'd have had to cut off the last half hour of Shrek of course!
