I'm actually hoping for a downturn in Corrie's ratings, anything to get rid of Blackburn and his misguided, deluded and inept vision of what the show should be. Hayley and Roy's storyline is the only thing worth watching right now. Nice to see EastEnders' fortunes beginning to turn around. It goes to show what a decent producer can do for a long-running show.

The only storyline worth watching? It's the only storyline going! Hayley's cancer has absolutely dominated Corrie in the last few months, it's gruelling viewing. But I totally agree about DTC.

Who the 'F' is Bob?

It's possible but tbh I wouldn't get your hopes up.
EastEnders will top 8 million when it's ready too. At present it's very consistent which is good.

Pity EastEnders can't pull out of single-digits these days as the level of quality has rocketed in recent months and I now genuinely look forward to watching each episode. Corrie's doing very poorly currently and the shares ought to be at 40%+ at least three-fifths of the time, IMO.

I very much doubt they'll manage more than 10 million tomorrow night. Probably in the mid-late 9s, which would be disastrous for them.

The year on year drops are not so bad at the moment for Eastenders. Better than the year as a whole. Coronation Street's drops are quite large considering the big storyline this week compared to last year.

You'd've thought ITV would've stuck an extra ep on in December, instead of this clash nonsense!

*No Emmerdale clash this week last year

Once again an Emmerdale clash acts as a momentum killer for EastEnders, such a shame for it to get its highest rating since November only to clash straight after. Still, the year on year comparisons should hopefully start looking healthier from next week as that's when the ratings really started to fall last year.

There will be more clashes coming up too, Europa League will be pushing Emmerdale to 18:45-19:45 which is bad for both soaps' ratings, and the Brit Awards will no doubt give itv an excuse to set up another Tuesday clash.

Corrie not down y-o-y in January that much still performing strongly beating its rivals.

EE fans should be more worried the show can't keep above 8 million in the overnights which is a problem for the show.

Not really Last Request. Overnights are now becoming increasing irrelevant in the world of multi media catch up. Overall reach is what its all about now for all networks. You just have to look at some of the gains certain shows make once consolidated figures come in to see this.

The consolidated figures with Eastenders under LN were irreverent because they still couldn't save her job.

The overnights were that bad under her hence why she lost her job.

I've noticed EastEnders is timeshifting a lot less now. Wonder why?

All soaps down on last year but the shares are not terrible. Presumably the snow last year boosted figures.

The big question here is WHYh as Corrie lost a million viewers in such a short space of time despite having a huge storyline running and the exit of a 'much' loved character?

EastEnders has stayed consistent since July. Its time shifts are at normal level and its still constantly the BBC's number 1 winner on iplayer.

Big questions have to be asked why Corrie isn't delivering.
