Personally I do not give a shit about ratings.

If I did I would not watch so many wonderful programmes on BBC4 (the Euro-Dramas and all the excellent documentaries for a start).

I really enjoyed the episode - that's good enough for me.

According to uk TV ratings twitter it was 8.18 million up a million from last year.

I think it says up a million from last Monday, (not last year).

Highest overnight rating of 2014 too!

It was a decent episode for sure. I tuned in last night for the first time in probably over a month.

It will be interesting to see the ratings for tonight and develop a feel for if people are getting hooked back in!

Finally...it deserves too be getting this amount of viewers.

Up 1.08m on last week, up 0.39m on last year (the equivalent Monday last year, not Easter Monday.) Great rating for it, highest Monday share since last January as well.

Perhaps those spooky adverts paid off!

I hope it keeps up the high rating for tonight. I really liked last night's episode but it might have been a bit non-eventful for the casual viewer. I think tonight's episode will be the one that really delivers in terms of drama.

It will be a shame if the figure drops for tonight's episode, since tonight is supposed to be the 'main event' of drama with Ian breaking down etc.

Does that mean that over A MILLION new viewers tuned in last night from Friday or am I misunderstanding overnights? If so this is an absolutely incredible result for Eastenders and I'm overjoyed to hear it, if all the promotion hadn't seen a change then it would have been incredibly disappointing for everybody involved, great job.

No last request is a forum member on here who watches EE but slates it all the time.

It's because Sharon was back in it. As I have told people on here over again you can't have a good EE ep without a watts in it. It just doesn't work.
