Good to see Corrie's consolidated figures edging closer to 8m. October should break this with the upcoming stunt and return of Peter Barlow,

I still don't understand Corrie's timeshifts. Is it via non-Sky devices or ITV2 repeats are the best platform? Sky's ITV Hub strips the adverts as opposed to watching on laptop.

Whereas EE and Watch is not quite on the same level.

Has Corrie got a broader demo compared to EE (skewing young)?

Sw, the adverts are stripped out in the officials and people who watch within 7 days are added to the figures.

Ah well - the bounce from ED's big soap week / most expensive stunt ever / hyped up on social media, seems to have run out of steam.

That other soap that's currently being ruined (according to social media) has edged ahead again.

No worries though - there's no soap award stuff being voted for at the moment - ED can rest easy till the next voting award opens up.

Yep - you're correct

My point still stands though - EE is taking a bashing from social media with some claiming it's been "ruined" - yet ED hasn't really capitalised beyond its stunt week spike and current social media "hot favourite soap of the moment status"

Emmerdale was above EE in consolidated ratings including +1, so I think Emmerdale is doing fine. We are now 4 weeks from the stunt, and Emmerdale is still out in front.

Again - still missing the point

Since the "big week" - ED has just slid quietly back - whilst CS and EE have both been more consistent - EE, in fact, rising this week (even though *nothing* is happening).

ED has become a show where its relying on social media chasing stunts & sensationalism.

Every week now - someone is getting punched or brandishing a gun or getting carted off to hospital or getting nicked by the police or doing some law-breaking act of some kind or another.
Yeah - it appeals to the social media demographic, and the show brings out its big sensationalist guns on the weeks when there's votes to be had for awards - but they quietly disappear again when the show hasn't got some big flashy episode to entertain them. Its hardly a loyal audience.

But anyhoo - just my opinion - I'm well aware that ED is not be dissed on this forum at the moment

ED has lost the least amount of viewers over the last few years when EE and CS have both haemorrhaged them. A few weeks worth of ratings don't tell the full story. ED has a very loyal audience.

Of course it does - ALL the soaps have their hardcore audience.
But in its determination to chase after the social media audience its in danger of losing its status as a soap.

Continuity is bordering on embarrasing.
Rebecca gets knocked unconscious with blood pouring from her head - by the end of the ep she's up and coherent and by the next ep its as if it never happened.
Victoria gets a broken rib - by the next ep she's all about how often she can have sex with Adam because she wants to get pregnant, broken rib not mentioned again.
Aaron nearly dies with a lacerated liver - next time we see him he's sat at the bar with a pint.

ED isn't really a soap anymore - its just a tv show with an endless succession of plots.

ED is still ahead when you include +1.
It's fair not to include it when comparing with EastEnders since the BBC doesn't have a +1 channel.

Up to a million watch EastEnders on iPlayer. I don't see anyone rushing to factor that into its ratings.

I think for EastEnders two year-to-date averages should be posted.

One with the Emmerdale clash eps factored in and one without, which will give a better picture of how its really doing this year, since ITV targeted what is usually its highest rated ep most of the summer.

Interesting, that the amount of people criticising Sean O Connor's direction with EastEnders, yet the ratings are very consistant, if not better in some cases.

All three are very close at the moment.
I reckon this year Corrie have a good shot at coming out on top at Christmas, it seems to have a lot of story lined up.
