TracyLuv's Kidney
Tracy Luv had a new kidney done about 1994.
It is never mentioned. They should mention it to acknowledge people who do have tranplants and how it can still effect them long term. In real life would Tracy have to still moderate her diet and drink intake surely? |

they should have her body start to reject it for a storyline, could get her some sympathy.

It was mentioned during tracy and deirdre's two hander in 2007, just before tracy's murder trial, but yes, you wouldn't notice she was watching her alcahol intake

I agree it would be a good storyline for her to start suffering complications. The average lifespan of a transplanted kidney is 10-15 years.
Even a few scenes of her going for a regular checkup and some interaction with a doctor, maybe getting some not great news about her latest blood test and told to cut back on alcohol would be an early lead into the plot. Anything which doesn't involve affairs, weddings or pregancy! That's all soap plots seem to be these days. |

Didn't she try to pull that one before she went to prison in 2007? On how she had to take pills every day of her life so her body wouldn't reject the kidney?

It was mentioned when Tracy was going to have an abortion with Amy. Emily told her not to as with her condition she may not be able to have children again if she aborted or something. This convinced Tracy.
I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned when she had a miscarriage with the twins. |

It was the previous Tracy ( The none evil one) who had the transplant.

I'll have had my transplant almost 16years in April all being well. I was 10 with my first call, 9months on dialysis, and so far things are going strong *touch wood*. I do know a guy that has had his 20+ years so it is possible to last longer than average.
If it wasn't for this thread I would've forgot Tracy had a transplant. Completely unrealistic. She should be seeing a doctor every 3months at least (that's how often I go). |

I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote into the script that it had miraculously grown back.

Most anti-rejection drugs clear the body through the liver, so she'd have been having reguar blood tests for liver function as well as kidney function.

But if she did have three, she could donate one to Steve when he became seriously ill, on the understanding that he had to go back to her. She would also be pregnant, of course, at the same time.
