I don't get delivery reports on Genie, my housemate does - go figure. The *0# thing works though, as you say, and as far as I'm aware you don't get charged for it. I don't use it much though myself so I couldn't say for sure.

Mark, Swellybro,
Does your phone have a menu option that lets you choose to receive delivery reports automatically? If I remember rightly, Orange charge 5p per delivery report by typing RCT at the beginning of each message (on PAYG anyway last time I used it) I don't know about Genie but I always thought as long as the phone had the option to set delivery reports then they would work as normal. Could be wrong. I know for sure that Nokia 5510, 3210, 3310 and 3330 all have this function and I haven't been charged for them. |

I have BT Cellnet, and I use the delivery reports quite often to make sure that my friends are getting my messages, considering that it usually causes a lot of confusion when we don't get each other's messages for some reason.
Yes you do have to type in *0# before each message, but it's not really much of a bother is it? And I don't think that I get charged for it. |

Orange no longer charge for this service i think, ive just tried it and it didnt take anything off my balance.
Also depending on the phone, such as Nokia and Samsung, you can select to receive reports automatically.
