Thinking of buying a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S on PAYG

Just wondering if anyone has one and would like to comment on how they are finding it. Most of the reviews seem good and Stuff magazine has it as the 3rd best smartphone on the market.

I haveseen a deal for £229.99 on O2 and for the features it seems a cracking deal compared to the iphone and HTC sensation offers on PAYG.

Any advice really welcome. I am probably gonna end up buying this today. Cheers

I upgraded from the X10 to the S and love it. I totally recommend getting one. The only down side so far is that it is stuck on android 2.3.4 until august when SE will release 4 for it. If yours is branded it may be even longer.
There is a case for it on amazon at about £2-3 that doesnt make the phone all that much thicker and doesnt "stick" to your pocket, if you want the link to it let me know.

Could you please give me the link, I was also thinking about the case. Thanks.

Only thing I am not sure about is the white outer. It is far cheaper in white than the other colours.

I got one for a mates missus last week from Phones4U white unlocked/unbranded for £200 as it was done as a PAYG upgrade instore.

I quite like timescape and its very quick, not to my tastes as I found it too thin and plastic for me.

I haven't seen this phone in white. I have the black one.
The unbranded phones come with a screen protector, not sure about the ones from the networks. If not dont spend silly money on a protector, got to the pound shop and buy an ipad screen protector. Then you can just cut it up to the right size, and if you dont put it on properly or it needs replacing you have plenty spares!

I have one. I love it. Best phone I've had. Much better than the iPhone I had before.

I had the arc and loved it the only thing it lacked possibly was a little grunt but the s version has this so I would say get it

Thanks! I think I just needed a last little nudge to confirm I had made the right decision. Only problem now is to try to match the same price I have already found but to avoid the white outer. I think I prefer it in black.

Wifey got an Arc S when i got my Nexus (it was part of my haggling with her for a new toy )

The Arc S is very nice ! great screen, nice and quick, and the Sony overlay doesnt look to bad at all. Go for it

I'd personally hang on, on 18th Feb, Sony (who are now only Sony as they have bought over Ericsson) will announce their 2012 Sony phones, so you may want to wait for them. Also, once they are announced, if you still want the Arc then it will be much cheaper once the new lineup is announced. I've heard great reviews of the Arc, however there seems to be a universal problem of a crack, for some reason the Arc and Arc S are prone to this:

I love that website btw, its great for SE. They have pictures and specs for the new 2012 lineup so have a look around.

Got an Arc and love it. It is rooted and running a custom ROM Maybe the is no need for this with the Arc S but as said look for some cheap deals as I am only paying £20 a months on a 12 months contract

What are these people doing to crack there phones? Muppets.

How do I stop it vibrating when typing?

Its in the settings 'somewhere'.

The complicated bit is always in the stumbling around learning.
And the more it can do the more there is more to learn.
