My old gerbil loved watching the tv when I brought her in the Living Room, she would occasionally stand on her back legs looking at the tv (she only did it for about 30 seconds at a time though)

My cat sometimes loves the TV. He will just stare at the screen and sometimes go right up to it. Mainly wildelife programmes admittedly - Eastenders and Corrie don't have the same effect!
When he was a kitten we were watching the 3 day eventing and he loved that, was watching the horses running by and then jused to dash behind the TV to see where they had gone - bless him |

We have a two year old male cat who likes to assert his fragile sense of masculinity by watching rugby. We have another, 17 year old cat who became fascinated watching footage of a toad on a wildlife programme. When the toad disappeared off the bottom of the screen she ran under the telly to find it. That's really interesting that they may be able to see flat screen televisions better than the old types.

Cat sits right next to the screen when Meerkat Manor is on and often looks behind it to see where they've gone. He also used to love Alwyn Crawshaw's painting programme when it was on - chasing the brush and is quite keen on subtitles. My laptop screen is scratched to bits through showing puss youtube postings of "birdies"! The other cat - nada. Think she may be a little blind though.
Edit: Just remembered he does have a favourtie DVD too - Fingerbobs. When the themetune starts he sits on the edge of the bed as close to the screen as he can get.

my cat likes my "singing", her name is Pepsi but I sing Lady to her and she rolls over and shows her belly. David Attenborough must have a magical effect on animals

One of my cats loves The Cats of Claw Hill. She sits right in front of the TV transfixed by it. In the advert break she goes behind the TV to see where the cats have gone. So sweet to watch her

Blaze and Sphynx like different things. Blaze is more into anything that has things zipping around on screen. Snooker tends to get her attention, but she also has a James May fetish. Whenever he's on screen she'll try and pat his face to get his attention and then looks a bit confused and sad when it fails.
Sphynx is very food orientated and will watch the food channel for hours. There's been a couple of times they've done a close up of the food and she's hopped up onto the cabinet to lick the screen or try and paw the food out the TV. At the moment they've discovered the monitors for the PCs and will occasionally try and help my wife if she's playing "bubble burst" by patting the bubbles on the screen. |
