ASOS. I occassionally order clothes from Asos and ordered a few bits in the new year, got some lovely accessories and socks/tights but their ASOS branded stuff is absolute SHIT. I've sent back several things in the past month.

I ordered two dresses both ASOS branded and neither looked like what was on the website. Really poor fitting clothes, baggy "bodycon" dresses?! I ordered a sundress advertised and looked like baby pink! On arrival it was the most awful shade of flurosent orangey pink I've ever seen and my other half thought it was hideous and laughed at it and so did I. It wasn't cheap either.

I also sent back a playsuit as it was made out of a really thin, cheap material which was see through. Like something you'd wear over swimwear yet the price nor the website stated this anywhere.

Does anyone else find this with ASOS or is it just me that finds their own brand utterly SHIT?

I find it is hit and miss but that customer service, deliveries, and the easy website layout make it worth it.
They also refund (in my experience anyway, been shopping there for years) much quicker than a lot of other websites.
I know what you mean about the colours though. A couple of times ive ordered what they have described as 'nude' which turned out to be a orangey peach. I've sent a lot back but they have never had a problem with that and i enjoy having everything from shoes to bikini's on one site.

I agree, hit or miss.

i ordered a few things the other week and all the jewellery was ridiculous - cheap and nasty looking.

The Mango dress was fantastic but their ASOs stuff was shit indeed. I got a black knitted dress and it was so thin and see through that it was baggy and out of shape just from trying it on.

I agree about their bodycon dresses. Saggy pieces of tat.

Used to be lovely clothes but the magazine they send iut looks like a jumble sale contents modellled on some 'model' who lookslike a 12 yr old teenage boy. Foul mismatches ie a gaudy green sequin bolero with for example red tracksuit pants and a furry pair of boots

Vile vile clothes

Asos own brand is rubbish, I ordered a pair of Pumps before and they were so hard around the heel, if I had worn them I would have had cuts and blisters. I Order stuff off there all the time though, especially when theres a discount code floating around

ASOS was amazing between 2004-2007, then it just started to get a bit crappy in general.

I think ASOS has lost the original point really which was to give you lookalike celebrity clobber on the cheap - but now they just seem to stock the actually designer stuff at ridiculous prices

That said, I've had a few bits from there over the years - mainly jewellery and shoes (as I was too big for any of the clothes) all of which have been pretty nice. I did get a lace dress from their Petite range for one of my work Christmas parties last year which was really lovely but overpriced at £45 in my opinion however the good thing is it's unlikely to date.

Agree its hit and miss. If you avoid own brand stuff and just buy stuff from other shops e.g. Mango or River Island, then its good. From that respect its the same as buying from Debenhems or House of Fraser.

I agree with most of the opinions so far. I ordered a lot of the ASOS branded stuff a few years ago and used to like most of it, but these days find most of it cheap-looking, poor quality, erratically-sized and just generally very different from how it appeared on screen.

If I buy something from Oasis, Warehouse, French Connection, Zara, Boden (etc.) then I can be fairly certain that if I like how it looks on the website I'll like it equally when it arrives at my door (and I can also be fairly certain that my usual size will fit me), but the same is rarely true of ASOS. I haven't bought anything of their own brand for more than a year now.

Definitely hit and miss. Some sttuff on the website isn't even the same shade when it actually arrived. Got some asos skinny jeans before Xmas and they are ok. Their prices seem to be going up too. Topman website clothing is ALOT worse.

I remember buying stuff from As Seen on Screen when it first opened, mainly jewellery but it has changed so much. I would see something I liked and I would have a look and they may have it. Now I don't bother, it's no different to what you can get on the high street.

I agree, you used to be able to get outfits that actors wore in films too, I remember seeing my boss flicking through the catalogue and I started talking about how it was a brilliant site and how you could get the jacket Brad Pitt wore in Fight Club. She looked at me confused as it was nothing like that any more, and just another fashion site now, she didn't even know what asos stood for.

I have bought masses of stuff from ASOS over the years, but not as much lately. I mainly bought dresses and tops, but everything looks a little tarty now. The tops are barely there. The dresses are tops as far as im concerned.

Having said that though, the 3 dresses and about 8 tops i have from there are still going strong now years later. They wash well and get well and truly abused going to work. But they look as good as new.

I will continue to have a look at ASOS every few weeks or so as occasionally something catches my eye. But i think in the last year I have ordered something twice ... whereas i used to have to resist the urge monthly in the past.

I've only been shopping on Asos for the past 3 years or so but I have noticed that recently things rarely catch my eye. My Saved Items list used to be ridiculous! Now everything just looks like tat to me and it's not even that cheap to buy. I've got a couple of Asos brand tops which I don't wear much as they are quite thin and the sizing is a little off :/ That aside, I actually adore Asos for their lingerie section - especially when they have a sale on. Sale + free delivery = happy me! I ordered something a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night with free delivery and it arrived by 1pm Monday. Can't fault them for that

I agree with them being hit or miss, some stuff is lovely, but others, not so much. I've never found a problem with their quality though.

Can't speak for the ladies department, but for the men's stuff you'd think they could style the clothes on the models in such a way that is going to flatter the clothes they're trying to sale to us. The way they style that poor bearded bloke with the pony tailed long hair in particular is woeful. No wonder he never smiles.

Have you tried celeb boutique? http://celebboutique.com/?sl=EN

Agree about ASOS, good customer service but the clothes aren't that great, if I want cheapy stuff i'll go to boohoo.com.

I think ASOS are really good for jeans- they have a lot of Cheap Monday skinnies, which I love.

I just spent £85 on some jeans and a T-Shirt on there

It's why I have to limit myself when I go on there because I do tend to go a bit wild, spending wise.
