Panasonic Blu-ray player issues - Please Help
RADICAL0

Hi,

I'm trying to get help with a problem I have and I'm running out of ideas to fix it.

I recently bought a Panasonic DMP-BD75EB-K Blu-ray player and then got a Samsung UE40D5520 40" LED TV.

Correct me if I'm wrong but should these not be compatable? I have connected the HDMI cable directly to both units and did get to see a picture from the player to change the HDMI settings to Auto and 24p in the HDMI settings.
I then put a disc in and when it read the disc and went to play the TV lost the signal! I then can't get a picture at all and I can't see the settings menu anymore. So I set up a phono cable and got a picture through that but the HDMI menu settings on the player are grayed out and I can't change them to try a different setting, not that I should have to.

Can anyone suggest a reason for this please? The HDMI is working fine. Surly the most recent tech should work at that setting? Why can't I get the menu to work?

Thanks

Could it be that you've set the output of the player to settings the tv cannot read .
Can the tv accept 24p?
Is the tv full hd and able to accept 1080p?

If you have the HDMI connection active between player and tv you should be able to manually go to the phono input to make changes.

It sounds like you may have set the output to one your tv won't display - although you should have had an onscreen warning .
And if the tv won't accept 24p then the player won't usually let you to activate it.

If all else fails , consult the manual and perform a full system reset on the player and start again.
Before you do , try the HDMI cable on another device to check both ends are working ok

Is it a dvd that is not displaying ?
Either way , try powering up the player with NO DISC in it and see if you can access the menu that way
