I'm getting it on BBC1 HD as well, London area

Cornwall with Caroline Quentin ok too...............anyone else finding it all working ok this evening??

I have been having the same problems. I thought I'd re-scan the channels but found it was greyed out in the menu. Powered off for 5 mins and now I can do the scan. Have set a test recording and will see what happens.

In a word, no! I had Corrie & Caroline Quentin on series record on ITV1HD London. Two episodes of Corrie tonight with Caroline Quentin in the middle. Then Whitechapel afterwards. This is what happened:

First Corrie was an hour in duration instead of 30 mins and included Caroline Quentin as part of the same recording!

Second Corrie I terminated manually at 9pm. Whitechapel then started recording correctly but was 74 mins instead of an hour as billed! So the off time was 14 mins late.

What is going on? Has anyone tried SD recordings? Do they have the same problems? I think I'll get my old VHS recorder out of mothballs...

My box has let me down for the first time since buying it in 2008.

Cornwall with Caroline Q recorded for 99mins on ITVHD London, 17 mins of the programme, some Coronation Street and 40 odd mins of Whitechapel, which luckily I had set on ITV+1, which has recorded OK, resulting in the loss of the following recordings.

Lost The Royal Bodyguard, 0mins (OK no great loss!), but still showing in the schedule (BBC HD London)

Only the final 12 minutes of Mrs Browns Boys (not happy) (BBCHD London)

Only the final 11 minutes of Coppers. (Channel 4 West)

But strangely the repeat showing of Mrs Browns Boys on Saturday has appeared in the schedule, 99% certain I didn't set it.

Whitechapel on ITV1 HD London stopped 7 minutes later than scheduled at 22:07. The footy on ITV4 started 7 minutes into the programme at 22:07. No other active recordings around then. Co-incidence? I think not. Earlier recordings on BBC HD recorded correctly.

Changing to ITV1 HD Granada is tempting but haven't they been suffering audio drop outs?

I've had the occasional failed recording since mid-2009 when I got the box. Last failure was Ch 5 Body of Proof from a couple of weeks ago I think. Just didn't kick in at all. However, I think there may have been an EPG glitch. In this case 5 + 1 came to the rescue.

When I posted this thread, I wondered if I was on my own. It seems a lot more serious. I had failed recordings again on BBC1HD, BBC1 (E. Mids), CH4, and ITV1HD. Not one schedules program kicked in apart from 'Cornwall'.

Does anyone know where or if or how this issue about a rampantly failing epg gets to the awareness of those who input the codes?

I'm getting exactly the same issue HD ITV not recording , it appears that the machine wakes up but never receives the start signal so sits waiting and any other recordings later appear to then fail

Further to my post above, in addition to Caroline Quentin recording as part of Coronation Street, I didn't notice until later a failed recording of CQ, but not in the existing series folder, but with the single programmes. I'm going back to ITV1 SD until this gets sorted out.

Although you have failed recordings on BBC is it not the fact that it is ITV1 HD that is causing the problem?

I'm pretty sure that if I have not set Cornwall to record, The Royal Bodyguard, Mrs Browns Boys and Coppers would have all recorded OK, seemingly it was the overrun that caused my problems.

Has anyone had problems with just BBC programs with no ITV1 HD recording in the schedule?

Its ironic really as there is very little that I record on ITV1, and Cornwall is not the program that it should be.

I had the same problems, but last night I thought my box had died. Numerous failed recordings similar to those allready described. I tried a power cycle about half way into Whitechaple and the Humax would not boot, it just stuck on the boot screen on the front panel. No amount of unplugging and plugging in would fix it. In the end I disconnected the hard drive plugged in and started up with the front panel on button held in. After about 30 seconds, it switched off, I let go of the button and it started up with all but hard drive functions. I was quite sure this indicated a hard drive failure, but tied the hard drive one last time. Hey presto the Humax burst back into life with previous recordings accessible. At the moment it seems okay but I haven't tried any new recordings yet.

Seems pretty clear now it's related to ITV1-HD London.

Using ITV1-HD Granada all set recordings last night worked OK Emmerdale to Whitechapel.

Having ITV1-HD on your epg seems also to screw up the epg for other channels, hence reported failures on other recordings.

Try changing your postcode to M2 4JA to get ITV1-HD Granada (you get 1920 x 1080 instead of 1440 x 1080 as well).

You can use customise channels to put your local BBC region back on 101.

OK Graham, I think I'm going to do this as a temporary measure until this issue is resolved. It's a joke at the moment. We can get local ITV news from Freeview. ISTR you can do a postcode change without doing a full factory reset, is this correct?

Yes the option is on the autotune page. Interested to know if it solves the problem.

Good idea to make a note of your recording schedule first. Presumably ITV1-HD will need re-entering at the very least

Thanks. I've done a backup using Raydon's software, but can I just restore using this? Will any ITV1HD schedules re-map to the new stream?

I would just delete them and re-create to be sure although if the appear in the epg then they should be OK.

I'll post back after a few days, once I've had a chance to try it over several recordings.

Just to confirm, I've only seen this problem when I had a recording scheduled for ITV1-HD London.

Could be a data field overflowing into following EPG entries? The programme description perhaps?

I'm having similar problems. I've had the Humax box since they came out. I did use padding on recording, but switched to signal based 'Auto' a few weeks ago.

The live football on Saturday afternoon over ran by hours and other things I had due to record in the early evening Saturday either failed totally or the start was missed.

Last night I was recording Whitechapel(ITV1HD 9pm) and Mrs Brown(BBC1HD 9.30pm). I was watching something else I'd recorded until 9.20pm. Only when I came out of that did it start recording Whitechapel. I then watched something else I'd recorded until 9.40. When I came out of that I saw that Mrs Brown also hadn't started recording. It too then started recording.

So it seems that although the problems are probably caused by missed signals on ITV1HD they lead to problems with recording on other channels too.

I've gone back to padding.

More fails for me last night, Corrie 1 did not record, but the box came out of hibernation to start it, so I deleted my series link for Corrie and re added it, then set it to record Corrie 1 again on itv1+1 whilst simultaneously recording Corrie 2 on itv1hd (London) both recorded but Corrie 2 on itv1hd never stopped until I went back and changed channel on the box which carried on and recorded 180m of stuff..

I will switch my box to Manchester itvhd And see the results.. Not sure how to change the BBC region back to west midlands, don't mind itv being Manchester but I watch the regional stuff on BBC which I would not like to loose..

Bad time for the humax to start letting me down as it's crunch time here at jaffboy towers!!! F1 mainly on sky next year, mrs unimpressed with my DIY motorised dish solution in the garden in order to watch it next year, can't find a local specialist installer to put it where I want on the roof, only the thought of the £35 per month and learning how to use yet another remote is keeping mrs jaffboy from treating the scrap man to some more steel and alu.. If the humax causes any more problems with the holy Grail recording (soaps) then were all for the chop, and in will come the wolf in sheep's clothing better known to us all as $ky......

This is not the repeat - it's the final ep. of the series.

When is the repeat as would prefer to watch in HD rather than I player?

I had the same issue with Earthflight on BBC 1 HD Sunday afternoon. I was watching ITV 1 HD when the box should have started the recording, I switched over to BBC 1 HD five mins into the programme, and it only then started to record.
