I wonder if this has anything to do with it:
I have recently noticed that I have no thumbnails the day after recording, and the EPG has not updated overnight. So it seems the housekeeping at 3am has stopped!
I was unable to instant record either.
I found that if I do a manual download of the updated EPG using the 'Guide' button, everything seems to be OK for that day.
Next day, after no housekeeping, problems return.
Doing the manual EPG download daily seems to help!

I am using Raydon's latest modified firmware and web interface.

To be fair, if the data is wrong on the transponder carrying ITV1 HD London, then it won't just be Humax boxes affected, other Freesat PVRs would have the same problem unless it's some weird spec issue.

In fact if the source data is wrong and is being transformed into the requisite Freesat and Sky streams, then this could affect Sky too...

What channel is the box on when you have these problems? If not already, leave the box on 101 and see if this still happens.

I e-mailed Humax support about these EPG issues, and just got this reply:

"Dear Peter,

We have called freesat regarding this issue and this is an issue at the moment and should be fixed by the end of the week.

Kind Regards"

I can confirm that this issue is definately known about where it matters, and that as far as is known, it's only affecting the Hummy boxes. A fault call has been passed.

There are some perks to working where I do.

Maybe a small clue.

It's the only reference to non Humax kit I have seen. Mine continues to work 100% on the Sky transponder version (Granada)

Guess the Pana handles it better than the Hummy then. Good to know though.

Switched mine to Granada for now but not actually got round to doing any tests as yet. Sure it'll be fine.

There been several posts over on the TVonics thread but they seem to relate to BBC recordings. Could be the same broadcast issue which triggers different faults in different boxes?

That was my initial impression, but is it not the fact that the overrun of ITVHD recordings cause the loss of BBC recordings?

Well I've moved to Manchester now, I must say it was a lot cheaper than I've heard it's costing the Beeb.

I used Raydon's software to save and back up my schedule, and then restore it after the postcode change. Worked fine, all my non-ITV1HD schedule items were OK, any ITV1HD items appeared as a 4-digit LCN, so I deleted those manually and re-selected them from the EPG.

I did a scheduled recording from ITV1HD last night which was coincident with a recording on another channel, and it all worked fine, so the work-around is successful so far.

I will stay down sarf as the ITV1 HD London test monkey. But it is Friday evening before my next recording off there.

I've switched my one London ITV1-HD recording (Eternal Law on Thursday) to ITV SD. That should work OK and therefore test the theory.

I find it a bit Pathetic that in today’s world of technology that Freesat can post anything on their site stating that there is an issue. . I wonder how many people who don’t follow forums are wondering if there STB has gone faulty.

I suggested they should have a Status page like (Broadband companies) they said I should look at Freesat channel 999, of course I did and surprise surprise there is nothing there (as of last night). I sent them another message stating there was no info available and received the following:-

The issue we are aware of is relating to the flags ITV maintain and send out which tell the box when to start and stop recording. We have been in communication with ITV who are trying to resolve the issue. Regarding the information page on 999, it can sometimes take longer than predicted but there should be information regarding the issue on that page soon. We don't have a specific timeframe on when this will be resolved but we are working with ITV to sort this as soon as possible.

How are we supposed to know when we can reliable start using the EPG again.

If anybody knows when its repaired can the please post here

Delighted to report that at last, nearly a week after originating this thread and after about 10 days of failed recordings, all has settled down again. It seems clear then that the flags from ITV were at fault here and have been messing up the EPG and thereby scheduling.

Having said this, I am assuming all others who were experiencing serial recording failures are now finding the issue resolved for them. I hope so.

Like Dave Taylor suggests, I for one was sure at first that my stb was on the blink. I'm thankful that isn't the case, but nevertheless not happy about all the angst and time given to trying to reset the box etc and worry about possible extra expenditure on a new box.

Lets hope there's more alacrity in the future from Freeview and from ITV and other schedulers in recognising and dealing with major problems like this if they should re-occur.

Yep mine all good last night as well, tonight more scheduled so will keep an eye on it again

Law and Order UK recorded OK for me darn sarf last night. Next ITV programme not due now until Whitechapel on Monday.

Now it appears to be fixed (hope I'm not jinxing anything!) I just want to thank all those who responded or considered the issue while it was 'live' and causing quite a lot of anxiety. To know others were giving support and/or experiencing the same problems was very reassuring.

I think I've been on these forums for about 7 years - starting with questions about the much awaited Humax 9200 PVR; and the support of this place ever since those early days has always been A1. Thanks again guys/gals.

Well, I'm back "darn sarf" from "oop north" now, I reset my postcode back to normal. I used Raydon's software to back up the schedule first and restore it after the postcode change. I used this method also when I switched to Granada a week or so ago. The interesting thing, though, is now, since this last restore, any scheduled ITV1HD reservations made from the Granada version are still showing as being on LCN 119, implying they don't need changing. When I switched to Granada, any ITV1HD scheduled reservations from the London version came out as having a strange 4-digit LCN, like 2591 or something (can't remember), not 119. I deleted these and re-selected them. I'm wondering if this was connected in any way with the London version EPG problems? Probably not, but it seems a coincidence?

This sounds like either a spec ambiguity or ITV just misinterpreted it. Although it only seemed to be Humax HDRs that were affected, I would be surprised if Humax got it wrong, based on their history of being the lead developer for many of Freesat's features, and the generally robust performance of the box.

I lost a couple of recordings and one started half-way through. I also noticed that the schedule didn't update properly. All seems to be ok now though.

I had a strange one, I had the football on ITV and ITV 4 set to record, the ITV match went into ET so the program was extended and the Humax caught this, however the ITV 4 game did not record, that only started to record when I manually stopped the ITV game at the final whistle.

Anyone getting a problem on the EPG where you highlight another channel which is on at that moment and press OK expecting to be taken to that channel...but the HDR gives a record dialogue box instead .... even though the program has been on for ,say half an hour .........?
