Why can't they leave the show alone

This is pathetic.

As a result of this farce the public will only be able to vote for one of the two best skaters so how is that letting the public decide!

Did they say who decided who would dance against who?

This is a crap idea and it isn't basically even fair.

It's very early in the series for these twists. I don't like it either.

The only excuse is that is makes the program slightly shorter as there are so many skaters for individual programmes.

The one who came 1st last week is against the one who came 2nd, the one who came 3rd is against the one who came 4th etc

This is a rubbish idea, can't enjoy the skating, it is too distracting this way.

Stupid gimmick. Doubt it will do much for the ratings.

Surely in the skateoff they'll only do half a routine

Ridiculous messing around. I presume they are finding it more and more difficult to teach skating and are just going for gimmicks.

Please no more silly gimmicks

Okay I have nothing against the duel aspect of this week, it is different. My problem comes with the judges saving one till next week. We should be able to vote for everyone as not the pool is halved and someone who was good could potentially go because the judges saved the worst one (say Rosie) because they liked a certain aspect and as a result someone like Jorgie could be up for booting while Rosie is through. I don't like that the judges/producers are putting half them through without us and beasically telling us who we have to vote for by our pre selected contestants.

Although I disliked the idea of the 'duel', its one saving grace
was that the celebrities seemed to enjoy it, it looked as if it gave them added confidence. It was still a rubbish idea though!

It's ridiculous, I'd much rather have a normal week

One thing that ruined lasted years show for me was the 'Twists'.

I agree with the original poster that they should
not mess around with the show and winning formula.

Since the celebrities were paired based on ability,
then of the six requiring the public vote there will be a much
larger skill gap between them. Thus the weaker celebs
will find it harder to survive if they land in the skate off.

I don't like twists one little bit.

It is just the usual manipulation that nearly all of these types of shows do, to keep their favourites safe, that is why I won't waste money voting, if they want the public to finance the show then they should let the voters decide. I find it a real turn off.

.... also I felt that the celebrities only did half a routine.

I much prefer to see full routines from all celebrities and
kinda felt robbed of this.

Silly twist. They just put Jennifer and Charlene at more risk than they deserved to be. The split meant Chemmy was inevitably safe and gave Jennifer the stronger competition. They may or may not get rid of Corey. They couldn't really split Jorgie and Mathew or Heidi and Charlene, so voted for who they wanted to. And as they couldn't fudge things with a tie they just exposed their marking by choosing. Robin seems to be marking on a scale for male skaters ,and Louie is seeing what he wants to, on a subject (acting) he's not really qualified to judge on.They are all contradicting each other and/or themselves on why they are voting. Indeed their marking now looks like that on SCD - with Len voting for any blokish bloke available and Bruno and Craig and Alesha flirting with the contestants.

We don't know what they really thought of it. They aren't in a position where they can say it is a stupid idea. They have to stick to the script and say how fantastic it is and how excited they are to be doing it.

The cycnical side of me always wonders whether twists are introduced to keep/help certain celebs.

Crap twist. Almost as bad as last years where they had to choose who to send home.
