Wembley really was bad though. The floor was too big for those dancers, the sound quality was bad and the camera angles were dizzying.

Conversely I thought the 'twist' was a fairly ineffectual, harmless thing. There was potential for a shake-up in the bottom 2 from the perspective of the viewers, but they covered their bases with the bottom 6 picks so that they would have a harmless option to vote off in the statistically most likely outcomes (ie, Corey or Charlene were very, very likely to be bottom 2 in any case).

I suspect that Charlene, being US-based like Corey, isn't getting as many votes as the others and that's why the producers aren't protecting her.

So why protect Andy, Rosemary and Heidi when they are nothing special on the ice

I find it hard to choose this year now that Corey and Mark have gone

Jorgie, Matthew, Chico, Sebastien, Jennifer and Chemmy have all been doing really well I think

Sam, Rosemary, Andy Heidi and Charlene arent as good as those mentioned above but they have a more noticeable improvement and you can tell every one of them is pushing themselves to get better

I found it very hard with Sam Vs Chico, which I was suprised about because I thought Chico would have it hands down. Id have probably saved Chico but I wasnt expecting it to be so close, Sam could be a dark horse. Chemmy Vs Corey was a no brainer really, she easily deserved to be saved. Jorgie Vs Matthew was almost a bit unfair because both deserved to be saved. Id have probably saved Jorgie but didnt mind either way. Jennifer Vs Sebastien was a good one. They were both amazing but id have saved Seb knowing Jen would prob be saved by public anyway. Charlene Vs Heidi was another tough one, I expected the judges to be split but Id have gone for Heidi. I really do like Charlene but I think she can do better than she did and maybe played it a bit safe. If she can come out and give that bit extra next week she'd be more likely to get through. Rosemary Vs Andy was another toughie purely because they both clearly upped their game and were trying really hard to go that extra mile. Rosemary just edged it for me though and Id have saved her.

But now I think next week Im going to find it impossible to choose someone to go because I kind of like them all now. I suspect it will be either Charlene or Rosemary though

My favourite is Chico

But I suspect the shameless pimping by ITV for their sop fav will try and ensure a win for Matthew. To me he lacks the warmth in his performance that Chico has

Jorgie I think will be the Laura Hamilton of this series

Now to the others, I like Sam and Charlene, but I am bored with Andy, he is getting ridiculous pimping as well - always on last, never on first.

They attract relatively more viewers and voting revenue than Charlene?

so it is ok for them to manipulate the show - that is rigging and fixing

As much as we speculate though we cant prove if they are or arent doing these things.

Aginst 13 Charlene was in the skate off and beaten by at least 11, yet against 7 in week 1 she wasnt so was at least in the top 5, so it proves you cant ever call the results

I would suspect she will get a surge in votes this week as shes been bottom 2 twice, which probably means bye bye Rosemary

I kinda quite like Andy but as I said I sorta like them all now and id say Andy is probably the weaker of the remaining 11 (although that could change on sunday) so Andy would probably be my tip to go. But 3 guys and 1 female have gone so im guessing itll be a female which is why i reckon Charlene or Rosemary, I wouldnt say Heidi is safe either. Sam could be in trouble too

Sam is a regular on TM with Pip isn't he - not that I am suggesting anything improper though

But I wouldn't be sad to see Heidi go - sh should have been booted out first when she was up against Andy A

Im glad Andy went as opposed to her actually but it should have been Mark. I suspect Heidi wont last long.

Ive been fairly happy with most of the results so far actually, except Corey should have gone instead of Laila and Mark instead of Andy but theyre both gone now anyway lol

One thing really annoyed me was when Jayne and Chris really short changed Charlene last week just by turning her into a Marilyn tribute act. They didn't seem to put much effort into her routine, it was almost as if they didn't know what to do.

Plenty of time went into Matt and Jorgie though didn't it

Dare I say I actually quite liked the twist?

It gave all of them a taste of competition between skaters of similar ability and helped focus them (imo). It gave confidence to the more timid skaters and helped spur them on training with comparative opponants. It had the added benefit of keeping in better skaters that may have been eliminated by public vote alone. It was such a shame Andy, who seemed better in the first show than some are even now, got booted off at the start. The only odd thing I thought was, although I winced whenever Cory took to the floor (he was so bad), actually if judged ONLY by the skate off: he did better then than he had ever done, whereas Charlene did hers badly.

If anything, it put the better skaters who weren't immune in more danger than they'd normally have been in.

Partly because there were fewer up for the vote, and so less of a "cushion" of poorer skaters below then, and partly because it was purely a public vote with no help from judge's marks.

yet another crackpot idea, just like the crackpot twists in the X Factor, which did NOT work.

BOO HOO ITV.

Bring an eliminated week 1 contestant back - I wouldn't mind if Andy came back actually,

Not really. It made it impossible for both Jorgie and Matt to be in the skate-off, and the other one was never going to lose the skate-off. Plus, history shows that a good place on the leader-board can leave you vulnerable because the public assume you don't need votes, while fans of the couples at the bottom are spurred into placing an extra couple of votes just to be on the safe side.

As it turned out, without judges scores to "support" the better skaters, the two with the least votes were also the weakest two.

I don't think they can repeat this exact twist in the future, but I liked them skating in pairs of couples. It allowed us to have routines that were a decent length at a stage in the competition when the routines are usually frustratingly short, but the show goes on forever. I think they should do something similar next year with couples put together, but probably just score them the normal way.
