I know its not the best place to mention this, but have 200 little axolotls (55 days old) that need homes. Gumtree wont let me advertise them and several other sites also stopped advertising them too.
They all desperate for loving homes so anyone in the North west and can collect from manchester drop me a private message.

Why dont you ask around your nearest Pet shops? I can't see them taking them all but you might be lucky. Why so many?

They are actually very interesting animals as this article shows here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axolotls

I hope that good homes can be found for them and a few suggestions can be searched through below:

http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&cp=15...w=1024&bih=571

http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&cp=4&...w=1024&bih=571

Perhaps local zoos and aquariums might be interested and there's rescue centres/RSPCA perhaps as a very last resort but hopefully it won't come to that. Good luck to the OP in finding new homes for these creatures.

a lot of websites will not allow them to be advertised, too many people think they are endangered so its illegal to sell them. They dont seem to realise, yes they are endangered in the wild but the ones in homes are captive bred and are in their millions.
I have placed ads on most sites and at least 75% of them remove the listings.

dont say that, they are the cutest and most fun creatures there are. they have their own unique personality and love to be fed by hand and given loads of attention.

They look fascinating, how easy are they to care for and are they expensive to keep?

My son suffers from allergies so we have coldwater fish and a gecko rather that the usual fluffy pets so always looking for new ideas

very cheap to look after. the most basic set up would be a plastic tub or small tank. One that has more floor length than height. No need for filters or lights as they are sensitive to water moment and as no eyelids bright light stresses them.
all you need is 5 basic things, 1. tub/tank, 2. cold tap water, 3.declorinator liquid, 4.food, 5. the critter itself.

while young you can feed them frozen bloodworms each day and once older they can eat earthworms and crickets no problem. (bloodworms you can get blister packs of 16 cubes for £2.50 and 250 worms for £10 so its pretty cheap once they get older. Its just more expensive while young.

once 8 month old you can stop feeding each day and feed every 2nd day and also less water changes as they more hardy.

its one of the easiest creatures you can have, only downside is they poo a lot., and they seem to love doing it as soon as you clean their tub/tank and fresh water.

Thanks for the info, gonna have a wee bit more of a look into them. How big would the tank/tub need to be?I have an old glass Clearseal fish tank that's 12x8x8 would that have enough floor space or would I need something bigger?
Sorry for all the questions but are they social pets?I mean as in having a pair in a tank would they get on??
I use a siphon in my fish tank to clear up their poo every few days, would that work for these??
Thanks

Each to their own I suppose. I'm sure they are lovely once you get to know them. Just not for me ... ever.

They look so cute! Unfortunately i'm over the water or I would have taken a couple off you! Try advertising in your local papers classified sections. Are there any of those shops near you that sells exotic reptiles/fish, maybe they would take them?
