If your hair is dry and damaged do not bleach it. Use the colour b4 and shampoo your hair a few times then apply a semi perninant ash toned dark blonde/light brown as colour b4 will usually leave you with orange/ginger hair. Then use a reconstructor (either aphogee, joico kpak, dumb blonde) to help repair the damage followed by a deep condtioning treatment.

If you are wanting to go blonde, wait a month and if your hair is feeling better you can dye it blonde or bleach bath it then tone. Make sure to soak your hair in coconut oil for about an hour before bleaching or applying a permanant dye as it will help prevent damage.

Theroetically it should lighten but it's difficult for me to say how light it will go withought a picture of your hair after the colour b4. Still make sure you shampoo a few times before you put the blonde on as some of the chemicals in colour b4 can interact with the box dye and turn your hair black.

I wouldn't even attempt to go from plum to blonde at home. If it goes horribly wrong you could end up in a salon having it sorted.

I went from dark brown to platinum blonde via a hair salon. It took me just over 12 months and I was going every 8 weeks.

Whatever option you choose I hope it works out for you.

Blondes really do have more fun

I'm with breadstix & Lisabr, just go to a hairdressers. They will e able to tell you if your hair can take it and the safest process to get you to the colour you want.

Pleasedont. Even if you just dye brown over it although it wont actually nake much difference so either leave it or dye brown

It's still a big gamble doing it yourself and you may end up forking out for the repair work or having it cut off.

Have you thought about looking for salons who need models or go to your local college where hairdressing students work under supervision, they normally do reduced rates. Alternatively you could look through the local papers for salons with new stylists, they sometimes have offers in place in order to build up their client base.

Right ok. Well we are trying to advise you against dying your hair yourself. Even dying brown hair to blond at home is risky let alone plum.

I like the Ken Paves extensions, where did you get them for a fiver? If you still want to go blonde some highlights will be nice on your light brown hair in a while.
