Photos from laptop to phone
Linman

Simple question (I'm sure) but - without using bluetooth - how can I transfer pictures from my laptop to my mobile phone?

I've always done it before using photo software (Kodak-Share) but it's developed a fault and in the meantime, I don't know how else to do it!

Any advice?

Drag and drop in Windows Explorer.
Assumes you have windows and your phone can be connected via usb to show up as a drive.

If you have a micro usb to usb cable plug your phone into the pc and set your phone to be recognised as an external storage device. This will make your phone appear as a hard drive under My Computer. (Windows)

Then navigate to the folder on your computer where your images are stored and drag and drop them onto the phone folder in my computer. They will copy across and you will be able to access them on the phone.

Thanks, I should have explained that the problem is that even though my phone is connected to the laptop with a USB cable, it won't show up as a device, for some reason!!

What phone is it? Android?

If it is then drag down the notification bar and click on the USB symbol and make sure 'USB MASS STORAGE' is selected.

If that doesn't work try reinstalling the drivers for the phone on your computer.

An alternative is to remove the Micro SD card from the phone and plug it into the PC via an adapter if you have one. And then just copy the files on to the Micro SD.

As jabbamk1 said, taking the phone's card and plugging it into your PC is dead simple and foolproof. And it never hurts to have a card adapter lying around, so if you don't have one, get yourself one now!
