I have three in my bathroom at various price points, but I love them all!
Entry price: Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator This is a lovely gentle scrub, good for sensitive skins. It's probably a little too gentle for me, but I do enjoy using it from time to time. Mid Range: Alpha H Micro Cleanse This contains glycolic acid, and it is very very effective - you will see results quickly with this product. Might be a bit much for sensitive skin though. High End: MD Formulations Face and Body Scrub This is lovely and perfect to use for face and body, it's suitable for all skin types in my opinion and you will see nice results after a few uses. |

I'd recommend the St Ives Apricot Scrub. It's abrasive enough to remove the dead skin cells, but gentle enough not to cause irritation. And for £3.99 it's an absolute steal

What sort of price range are you looking at?
My fave is Phytopeel by Decleor, the RRP is £27.50 but you can get online discounts so expect to pay around £17.50 but the tube lasts ages. It smooths on, dries white and then you roll it off. There's no harsh particles and the ingredients are all natural (Essential Oils of Marjoram, Lavender, Thyme and Lemon, Plant Extracts of Burdock, Elder Tree and Mallow, Green Clay). A soft cream formula which exfoliates and smoothes the epidermis. It gently absorbs and eliminates impurities, and does not contain exfoliating particles, the gentlest and most natural way to renew your skin. It:

helps cleanse skin and removes impurities,
removes dead skin cells,
helps stimulate the cellular renewal process. Your clean, healthy and smooth skin recovers its even texture and has a healthy glow.
|

Oooh just had a thought.
Those hot cloth cleansers are brilliant. Liz Earle and Boots No7 do them off the top of my head. |

I'm surprised there's so many votes for St Ives, feels like rubbing your face with sand to me.
Each to their own I guess. |

Each to their own I guess. I liky Phytopeel as well actually, but I'm too lazy to use it, all that peeling off!

Dermalogica Microfoliant and Skin Prep Scrub are excellent.
MD Formulations are good too. Agree with the recommendations on hot cloth cleansers. Buy those ikea flannels that are 10 for £3 and you can use a fresh one each day with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. |

I like the Sanctuary Face scrub. They sell it in Boots. It's about £8, I think, and after you wash it off, your skin really does feel all fresh and smooth.

A St Ives vote from me as well - it is quite rough but then it works for me. I have tried many others but the grit always seems to fine, not enough grit in it, or the liquid bit is too runny!

I find a simple manual facial brush used with my regular cleanser an effective tool for exfoliating the skin - they can be bought cheaply at places like Boots and the Body Shop though other skin care companies have more pricier brushes.

Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel
I had this recommended on a forum years ago & I've not used anything else since I tried it! It's similar to Phytopeel, as in there are no grains, but it's much easier to rub off as the gel provides enough slip. You only need to use a small amount on clean dry skin & you massage it in & you will feel it go grainy beneath your fingers & it just rinses off easily, leaving soft skin. It costs around £25 in the UK, but I always buy it from this Ebay seller & at the moment it's £10.40 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ginvera-Gr...item20c248399f |
