I can not enter a subway, there is a really rank smell that seems to come from them, and I can't imagine the food being nice if the smell is not. However if you mean sub sandwich I like to make at home then I like:
Pulled Beef (a trimmed roast slow cooked in a Beefy Stock concoction) Diced Red Onion Pickles sliced lengthways Sauteed Peppers Finally covered in a Provolone Sauce (Like a white sauce but with Provolone) Messy but lovely. I also love a standard ham and cheese. Layer of Mustard (Dijon or English) Layer of Lettuce (I use little Gem or Kos) Layer of Roast Gammon Layer of Cheese (I like Swiss just because of the holes )Layer of Salami (Mixture of different types) Layer of Pepperoni More Cheese Tomatoes Spread some Mayo and Mustard Mixture on top half of Sub Roll Cut in half serve with Pickle and Crisps (I like Red Sky) |

I rarely have subway due to the stupidly high calorie count but when I do its normally meatball sub with swiss cheese, jalapeņos, onions and southwest sauce.

Herbs and cheese bread, chicken temptation, double cheese, peppers, onions, lettuce and hot chilli sauce. Heated not toasted. Yum.

I had a really bad first experience with a Subway in the States, where the bread bit was basically like vampire dust and the meatballs were like jam roly polys formed into spheres.
BUT Then I had a chicken temptation a year or two back on some sort of promo deal. I now wish I hadn't had it, as it was horribly addictive. The formula: Hearty Italian bread, chicken temptation fried thing which they microwave, cheese, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, jalapenos, salt and pepper and lite mayo (which ISN'T very lite btw). It feels so baaad but it's tasty. |

I am not a butter fan, but you would expect something, surely some sandwiches would be quite dry? Or is this why the sauces are there?

I've not had one in a long long long time. I used to really like them though.
I like cheese steak with loads and loads of gherkins, jalapenos, lettuce, onions, olives with mayo and chilli sauces. |
