I have just replaced a faulty Humax 9300 with a Panasonic DMR-HW100 HDD recorder. My initial response is that the Pana is much less intuitive in operation than the Humax, and the User Guide is very difficult to follow. I have, however, managed to make a couple of timer recordings, and thankfully, the faults I had with the Humax seem to be absent on the Pana, but two functions that the Humax had, but seem to be missing on the Pana, are the ability to schedule a recording Once, Daily, Weekly,Weekday or Weekend, which I found very useful, as I like to record the daily early morning newspaper reviews on Sky News (Ch82 Freeview). I also found it useful, while watching a playback, to see how much of the programme was left, by pressing the play button (>.) If anyone has one of these Panasonics and knows how to perform these functions, particularly setting up a Daily Recording schedule, I would appreciate their advice.
