France's 4th mobile operator Iliad SA has launched some new sim only tariffs.

€2 a month offer which includes 60 texts and 60 minutes of calls per month, and €19.99 a month contract for unlimited calls [domestic and international calls to 40 countries including the U.S], texts and three gigabytes of data. In both cases subscribers will have to pay extra to purchase their mobile handset. People who already subscribe to Iliad's broadband service can benefit from further price reductions.

it seems Iliad want to separate the handset and contract and my sleuth tells me it may happen here too.
