Can I port my number from Orange to Orange using a PAC Code?

I am around a fortnight away from the end of my Orange contract, but I have seen an excellent price for a Sim Only package, still on Orange, that I would like to get. Obviously a phonecall to Orange would get me the same deal, but this one includes £50 cashback. I would like to keep my number as it's an easy one to remember, plus it's a hassle letting everyone know your new number. Is this possible?

Cheers.

Just ask to keep your number when you get the sim...it shouldn't be a problem.

If upgrading then it won't be a problem but if wanting to join as a new customer (which is probable due to the £50 cashback) then it's probably not possible.

The best way to go about it may be to get your PAC code and port out to another network on PAYG. Use it for a few days then request a PAC and port it back to Orange as a new customer on this new deal.

I'm not sure if there's a minimum time period between porting in and porting back out though so it may be prudent to check with whatever network you port out to before committing.
