I sugest you do, because there's info on both DACs and how they affect sound on the phones
Nah, as a 10 year qualified electronics tech i really dont need to thanks!

If you want your phone to sound better download poweramp. The phone could have the best sound processing hardware ever but the Android music player absolutely blows, so downloading a decent one will make all the difference.

I don't hate it! I am pointing out the issues I have had with two of them now that are yes, annoying but not changing my mind of why I went with this phone.

You see when people point out stuff that's bad - you get smashed down upon by fanboys and others who distort the "greatness" of a piece of equipment. Something than both Apple and Android camps do big time.
Absolutely not. Just you seem to be experiencing issues that pretty much no one else does. I'm no fanboy. At the moment i'm sitting here with a 4S while my S2 is away for repair for a smashed screen.

What are you on? They are not pressing hard to damage the screen. Even if they are the screen is toughened gorilla glass.
They are demonstrating IR (Not Burn-in) with a app called Burn-in Tester Pro. A Phenomenon that OLED can display naturally - the length of IR varied depending on how long the static image lasts on screen.

I have always said Burn in was the next stage and Burn in has indeed been catalogued on other OLED displays. Its the nature of OLED. Burn in occurs when the same static image over time ages the cells quicker than others around them causing a dimming effect or ghost. Because OLED looses brightness as it ages this is a known consequence.

Why hammer down and deny on a single insignificant point I made that others may want to consider- especially if using in bright, sunny environments.
Get real....I didn't say they were going to damage the glass, I said they were pressing hard.
It's not just one insignificant point though is it? You are the one that keeps popping up links to 'prove' a point. If it's insignificant, don't refer to it....
A significant number of people on here alone have told you that they don't experience the IR/Burn (whatever) when experimenting as you requested. But of course, according to you, they are telling lies.
If you had a bad experience then fine, it is your right to be able to voice that you have had a problem. Don't post links to try and prove you had a problem if you are not going to believe people telling you their phone is OK.

My rectification was to get a replacement - and speak to the guy in store who had a S2 and displayed the same issue as well as a store demo! He explained it may be a encoding issue from the BBC which was probably correct.
Some people are not as sensitive to judder- which is mainly evident on panning scenes.
It does not effect Flash on other sources apart from iPlayer.
You really are making this stuff up now, aren't you? Every person you talk to who has an S2 or where you come into contact with another handset has similar faults as yours. Amazing! And now you're reporting on individuals sensitivity to 'judder'.

Come on.. admit you're just on a wind-up and give it a rest.

I have been reading this thread with intrigue since I got my Galaxy S2 just this weekend!!!!. I don't want to join the war, but do want to say I don't find the sound to be that bad - better than my iPod touch 1G- the headphones are better on the S2 perhaps??.
I do agree though with the comment about seeing ghosting on the screen. Mine does it too and the brightness is on the factory setting- do I need to turn it down??? Its not that bright on the default compared to full already however.

Off topic - can I ask... does the SD card go higher than 32GB??

Thanks !

Thanks! I did wonder if saying that was wise but I see a ghost when i pull the bar down from the top when using the keypad for a while. I don't have any other probs the phone is mint!

Is there a Galaxy post? I wanted to know if other members have had bigger cards than 32. It says up to 32gb but I need more as I have a load of videos and music.

The Galaxy S2 will take the 64GB cards (which cost around £80! ) and you'll be able to use the full storage space.

But you won't get the fast read/write speeds that you'd get on a phone that officially support the 64GB cards. It'll stlill be quite fast though.

64 will be plenty I think!!!. I know they are not cheap but it would be real handy for me. What do you mean about fast read write speeds? I have worked out with 32gb and the phone its about 5gb or so over for the stuff have. But the apps take up room so would need more for them too.

What i mean is how fast a file will transfer (write) from your pc to the Micro SD card. It would take for example 3 seconds on a supported device. But it may take up to 6 seconds on the unsupported GS2.

Same with the 'read' speeds. It'll take slightly longer to open a file on the sd card that it would on a supported device.

Hope that makes sense^

Ok cheers. Will that make a difference listening to mp3s or watching videos or not?

Nope, the 64GB card will work fine in the S2. so mp3/mp4 files will playback fine.

Don't worry they would probably dismiss you anyway! I get it on that too especially with the Samsung keyboard on or just after a bright static image. Its because its a grayish/blue background which highlights it more.

As for memory past 32GB the cards are very expensive. You can get a 64GB one for £80 class 6, which will be sufficient here:

If that's too much there's a couple of good deals here on 32GB's....
