Smoked fish - what can I do with it?
I've been given a pack of mixed smoked fish from Morrison's in Gibraltar & I'm not sure how to serve it! - it has plain salmon & salmon with onion & red pepper and plain mackerel and peppered mackerel .
I was just going to serve it cold with salad but it's blooming freezing here in 'sunny' Spain tonight and fancy something warm - any suggestions guys? |

We had smoked haddock with mash and peas the other night, it was amazing. We thought it was going to be dry and horrible but it was so nice, and I really do not like fish normally,

You could smash some of it up with Philadelphia, creme fraish etc to make a nice pate.

Thanks for all the suggestions but I ended up keeping it simple after all! Cold with some salad leaves, cherry toms and goat's cheese with warm, crusty baguette - it was delish

How much have you got of each? I absolutely love smoked mackerel pate with a bit of rocket, lemon wedges and toasted french bread.

Shared it with OH - so not a lot left but I have some Philly cheese so may mash it together tomorrow & have it on toast for lunch.
I was originally thinking of combining it hot with some Philly to make a kind of pasta sauce - anyone think that would have worked? |

I tend to have warmed New Potatos in herbs with my fish.

Don't forget to add a teaspoon of horseradish sauce. Makes all the difference.
I have five more packs of both plain and smoked mackerel in the freezer to use so thanks for all the ideas

Horseradish & mackerel is a great combo - add some beetroot and it's even better!
