I had a call from a Company called Speedy Mobile last Friday and they offered me a 30 rolling contract with orange and after 3 months will get a new handset.

They told me i would get the sim within 3 days but still not got it so wanted to know if anyone has heard of them and if they have had sim only contracts with them?

I have called them but all i get is a message service saying they cant take my call and to leave a message and number and they will call me back but have not.

so not so speedy in my eyes.

Sounds like they are trying to sign you unto a Sim Only Contract now for an easy commission from Orange and then in 3 months they will sign you up to a 24 Month Contract and get a bigger commission from Orange again.

You gave a stranger your bank details?

Lets hope they are who they say they are.
Even then I'd read the arriving contract a dozen times. You can be certain anything missing does not exist. Unmentioned stuff may be lurking in there too.

Don't buy anything from cold calls, it only encourages more cold calls

Just been looking around on the net and saw this post, I got some missed calls from Speedy Mobiles - I can't remember where they go my info from? Where did you apply? I think I clicked on something?

Looks pretty dodgey! did you get your sim?

Never never never agree to a new phone contract or give your details to anyone who cold calls you!

At very least ask them for a phone number and tell them you'll call them back. If they say you can't, avoid them like the plague.

You wouldn't give your personal details (address, date of birth, bank account) to some random in the street, this is the same!

And what lessons have we learned? somebody who calls you could be anyone and may not be reputable even if they say they are calling from a company you know / have heard of you are only taking their word for it.

Never give your bank details or agree to anything in this scenario.

This ^ , I never understand why people sign up over the phone so eagerly when it is so obviously a fake/dodgy deal.
