I don't know if this sounds daft. Please be gentle if it does. I took possession of my first smartphone in June last year, and I simply have not 'warmed' to it. I got it because I'm on a contract and I was due an upgrade and I didn't want to waste the opportunity of a swanky new phone for free.
It is a Nokia C7, and while I can appreciate what it does and I like some of the things I can do now that I couldn't previously (the qwerty keyboard on screen, for example, as I don't use text-speak), I still miss the Sony Ericsson Elm that I used to have.
I don't know whether it is the touch screen that I haven't adapted to, or the apps and functions that I don't need (not to mention the fact that the few apps that I might find useful aren't compatable with this OS). I'm simply not making the most of it, and I'm just not happy with it.
I'm not a gadget person, so this is new territory for me. The question is, should I persevere? I can say that I am very unlikely to utilise more functions than I do now. I make calls, I send texts, and I use email a bit more than I did (though not much), and I use the internet - again not much.
I listen to music and podcasts, though less than I did. What I do want, though, is a decent camera on the phone. I really like the convenience of being able to take pics at a moment's notice. The camera on this phone is 8mp, but it has no auto focus and the quality of pic is not that great unless the lighting, etc, is perfect.
I'm considering trading it in and getting another, non-smart, phone. Or would I be better off with a different smartphone?
So is it me, or the phone that's the problem? Your comments and suggestions would be welcome.
